kinda, yeah. It's not the 90s anymore. Two oil changes a year works fine for me. The oil color doesn't matter (much) it's a factor of how much wear prevention is still active and how much of the dispersants and particulate capture chemicals are still doing their work.

While I won't ever trust OLMs and manufac service schedules, 5-6k miles is a good sweet spot for cost and modern oil's capabilities.

My method is two a year - One for summer temps and one for winter. I don't want overly worn and thinned oil for summer heat, I don't want overly worn out for winter cold. I think once a year or worse, once in 15-20k miles is a bad idea.

my Corolla for example: oil is good to 8,000mi BUT it has slight head gasket leak.
so sodium starts to contaminate the oil after 5,000mi
so I change at 5K.

Changing oil doesnt compensate for physical problems. While yeah, you are helping delay it (like me driving soft helps my trans live longer) eventually that problem ends up being the source and cause of a major one.

I need sparks and a TB clean at the minimum. High qual gas, some fuel cleaner every other oil change, and hot high rev burns helps it, well eventually I fucking need the sparks chamged.
