I am guessing the board is dead last time i posted an /OG/ thred it died with 0 replies which is an impressive feat on such a slow board. Do you operate heavy machinery? If so what and do you enjoy your work? Do you think AI will ever replace your job?
>Do you operate heavy machinery?Yeah your mom
>>28113724I'll operate your mum in a minute mate.
I'm pretty handy with the JLG telescopic ultra boom and I can also operate a the T500 pushback. I guess those count.
>>28113720Operating machinery is for drunk crackheads that can’t maintain a CDL. U stupid fucking nigger. What’s it like being a literal piece of shit u fucking Moron!
>headphones on>seatbelt off>6 hours into overnight shiftanother day of operating a YALE
I used to cut concrete with the big hydraulic hand saw. Does that count?
>>28114631At my old job, we had a ex-military diesel Yale with dullies up front.Still my favorite forklift after all this time. We used to run it on jet fuel that we defuled from aircraft and mix it with some oil. The keychain on it said "Pussy Wagon", and there were tally marks on the side of the counterweight that showed how many things it has run into and broke.
>>28114886>>28114631Wait a minute, now that I really think about it, the forklift was a Hyster, not a Yale. Fuck Yale.
>>28114631>palm trees What’s it like being a pos
>>28113720YesLove it, I drill in a underground mine and drive a loaderYea AI/automation will replace me in a few years. It is what it is.
>>28114892hyster makes yale shit iirc>>28114886drew this at my old job
>>28114892Hyster and Yale are like Buick and Chevrolet. Or Mitsubishi and Caterpillar.
>>28114624>>28114898>truckfaggot seething over heavy machinerylel
>>28114624at least after my shift ends I get to go back home to sleep in my own bed and shit in my own crapper.hope you enjoy pissing in the bottle. And yes, I am aware you've been waiting for 4 hours to be loaded, but I'm going for my union mandated break now. See you in 1(one) hour.
>>28113720I miss running equipment. Spent most of my time in a e145 and a 303e. But no, I did not love my job. >I loved my first job, where I truly learned to run equipment >New employer offered substantially more pay so I switched companies >1hr commute to 17 minutes, more pay I'll never forget what boss man once said>You'll never be wealthy if you don't screw people overWe did a lot of subpar grading and drainage work. One of them I remember well. >Get to job site, running ~6500ft of tile in total>I'm installing catch basins around the property to drain to the ditch>Eye balling the property has me questioning if it'll even drain>Set up transit and start checking >The lowest point in the ditch is ~1" higher than where I'm supposed to install catch basins>Call boss man, ask him if he shot the property>"Yeah it's good, you'll have to barely bury the tile">Ask if we're altering the ditch>"No, we're not touching the ditch. Wasn't approved by the county"I had explained it to the homeowner but boss man assured him it would be fine. >To no surprise the guys property flooded during the first rainstorm >Most of the tile worked its way to the topI ended up leaving that company shortly after.
>>28114624Driving a truck is for high school drop outs who had alcoholic parents, the Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder explains why you numb skulls are all so fucking stupid, never on the right radio channel, never in the right spot, never listen even when you are on channel, stay fucking mad about the fact that when you get loaded you are not in the biggest thing. Moxy drivers must really upset you. Ejoy your minimum wage lmao
i drove a hyster 155xl when i worked in a factory. it was fun.
>>28115606I own the biggest thing when I get loaded.Unless ur the owner. IDGAF.
>>28115606Most loaders are retarded and can’t even operate a car properly. It’s obvious they can’t obtain a cdl and are a danger on the road.
>>28115937Hows that minimum wage going?
>>28116036Pretty good considering I have 12 years worth of min wage in my checking acc
>>28116051And all the respect of spending 12 years working for min wage too! Nobody likes your shitty threads or fatass wife btw.
>>28116062>encountered a hater Really makes u think
>>28116076Yes dipshit, the board hates you because you're fucking retarded. Society would really crumble if your dumbass wasn't being the trained monkey it needs to stock the local walmart. Pat yourself on the back and pick up a hobby that isn't being the lowest common denominator on 4chan. If you were actually wealthy you would be too busy golfing with rich friends to be this stupid.
>>28115937How long do you typically spend on each load? How many days? Can you take weeks off since you own your truck?
The only reason ef boasts so much on 4chan is because if he did it anywhere else him and his bank account would get btfo so hard by actual non losers who make more AND work less lel
>>28113720i operate whatever. my fav will always be these little niggas. nothing like running one at full blast in a rich neighborhood at 0200.
>>28116076>encounter a hater you are the one attacking heavy machine operators presumably because they earn double the money you do and boss you around when they load you
Yea, any time I buy a new car I like to try and get a picture of it under the arm of whatever I'm using that day.
>>28118518
>>28118521
>>28118518>>28118521why are all heavy machine operators so autistic? Is that how you get the fine motor control to operate smoothly?
>>28118539>implying I'm good at my job
>>28118550if you aren't i assume you would get replaced rather than be there long enough for the machines you operate to get bigger and the cars you buy better due to your higher wages.
>>28118534>>28118544You'll have to excuse the quality of this picture, it was taken on a Cat B25 back in my "fuck smartphones" phase.
>>28118539A fair amount are not but you don’t have to be. After a couple of years doing shit it comes naturally.
>>28118559Size of the machine irrelevant, I just use whatever the customer has hired. Sometimes that's a Takeuchi TB210R, other times it's a JCB 220X. Oh, and the cars don't get better, I just get more of them.
>>28118518Oh, forgot to fill out the form>Do you operate heavy machinery?ye>If so what and do you enjoy your work?ye>Do you think AI will ever replace your job?na
>>28118518Fuck that'd be peak E46 if it weren't a vert.
>>28118473Nah I’m the one telling them to move it 6 inches to the left than 6 inches to the right immediately afterwards. And I do it because I’m in charge of loading my truck.Fun story not a single bad ass operator has volunteered to drive up and down my ramps.
>>28116106brutal
i once drove my dads lawnmower, does that count
>>28115313>Mitsubishi and Caterpillar. You'd be amused how pissed off sales will get if you point out that Mitsi and Cat are basically the same fucking lift. Had one dumb cunt that would get her panties ina twist about how "they're different!" but had no fucking idea what engine was under the seat.
>>28118803It was also SMG.
does 3276kg count as heavy?
>>28119552Any car over 1500kg on this board is usually mocked for being "pigfat", so sure, 3 ton seems reasonably heavy.
>>28119293Ah damn. When I worked at a specialist we generally considered putting the CSL tune on them an acceptable cope if you were stuck with an SMG but that was close to 10 years ago and I have no idea how they've have held up over time.
>>28113720oo mateee you have a loicsennse for that?
>>28120187Well, for what it's worth, mine had the CSL software installed from the day it was available (thank you previous owner) and it was perfectly fine. I'd honestly say I prefer it to just a traditional automatic of the era, simply because you had none of the delay when mashing the throttle from a stop, like you do with a torque converter. You had to "learn" how to take advantage of it's quirks to really get the most out of it, but once I did that, I found it to be a pretty good experience. It shifted smooth, rev matched really well, and did a pretty good job at predicting what gear was best for the situation. That being said, I obviously would've preferred a manual, but meh.
>>28120248That's not too bad then. I'm just realizing that surprisingly I've never actually driven one, worked on several but I was usually the guy who guided somebody else onto the lifts or whatever rather than the one driving when we moved cars around.
>>28120314Eh, you're not missing much. Truthfully speaking, I'm glad I sold it. Think I'd rather a supercharged 330ci over the M3. Makes a nicer sound, and the suspension is much more compliant. Also, the steering rack is quicker on the 330, which seems odd to me.
