Happy Friday! What are you working on this weekend? Come blog post about repairs, tools, and social justice.
>he has to work on his own carNot all of us are poor. lol
im putting the vvt solenoid in this 05 odyssey tomorrow, noticed it doesnt have another coolant leak, it has a blown head gasket. All the coolant is coming out of the overflow tank because it overflows. It will sit overnight and be 30 degrees in the morning, pop the radiator cap there's pressure in the radiator and its empty. Empty the overflow into the radiator, its not even full, overflow tank is empty, drive around all day, get home, its pissing coolant out of the overflow again because its over full, let it get cold as a dead body and the radiator is still under pressure. i know what happened too, the nigger jew the family member bought the car from got the car from his family member who let the timing belt break, and did a head job only 60k ago. That nigger jew put green coolant in the car. I cut this asshole out of my life over two years ago and he's still jewing it up.
>>28117003>Crappy 90s Ohio tier neighborhood>35k used BMWWow you really made it
Console swap. Such a worthwhile $100 quality of life upgrade.
>>28117009Post your car. kek
>>28117016When it's worth more than twice yours will that prove something to you?
>>28116998Doing the intake gaskets and new injectors on my vortec 350 soon bros, probably over thanksgiving weekend. This weekend I’m rebuilding the rear brakes and replacing a leaking cylinder on the passenger side.
If I had to choose a single bolt on for the 6.4 hemi with a tune what would net me the biggest bump in WHP? I'm not expecting anything crazy but another 20 would be nice
>>28117507Re gear diff
>>28117003I have cars worth more than 200k and still wrench on them myself. Your point?
Finally, space enough for a tire machine and balancer, just have to move the bikes aside.
>>28117642Bikes are such a hassle to store. They still take up so much space hanging from a wall. Too tall to hang from a ceiling.
More rust...
Now that the car is solid and goes down the road like it should, I can start to have fun
Just finished replacing 1 drive shaft and replacing boots on the other one. Long and painful job because the stupid lower control arm had to be forced downwards using a long lever to be able to get the CV shaft in and out, which was conveniently never mentioned in any of the service manuals ('just remove it bro!"). Replaced transmission seals while I was there. So glad that's over
>>28119266I replaced and repacked all 8 cv boots at once recently. Long dirty job but surprisingly not as miserable as I was dreading.
>>28119514Yeah once the axles are off the vehicle it's very easy and straightforward if you have the right tools.
Since its dead I'm just gonna blog. Fixed position camber plates to give max up travel and caster, and the camber will be adjusted at the strut bottom.
Strut housings, not yet complete. Might be as far as I'll get before the holiday
>>28118319Cutting out and welding in new?
>>28116998Brakes on my w123 are gonna make me shoot myself soon. Thought it would be so simple as to just fill it up and bleed it but nooooo. I can’t have shit easy.
>>28116998who is this whore and why do I have to look at her busted face in the catalog every day?
Kinda bored waiting for turbo and top end work to be done and a dyno tune in the meanwhile next year early January hopefully gonna go work on the interiors fix the roo dog damage
>>28116998>winter shitbox needed to pass smog>toss on the spacer I mentioned a few weeks ago>random misfire code suddenly thereafter>tear off the intake replace spark plugs>now a stupid fucking high idle code>tear off the intake again and put on a new seal for the EGR tube >fucking thermostat rationality code of all goddamn things, engine coolant temperature isn't raising>coolant reservoir is full, but I add coolant just as a precaution before draining and changing the thermostat>go to work the next morning and my coolant spills all over the floor of the garage because I'm an idiot and I didn't tighten the fill cap all the way>get home with time to spare, fill it with coolant, and run errands>thermostat rationality code disappears, coolant now gets up to temp properly>a simple mistake managed to make a thermostat replacement unnecessary>waiting waiting waiting for the computer to finally finish the emissions tests>start wondering why I'm not seeing any codes>run my scanner again and sure enough it's done and I'm in the clear>pass smog the next morning>CEL comes on again later in the day, heater circuit too high on driver side O2 sensor>I passed smog so I don't even have to worry about it>had to replace my fucking brakes toowhat a goddamn weekend
