Can a bike sleep outside ? I'm planning to buy a versys soon, 300 or 650. Now I don't have a garage, so the bike will be under a cover in my building courtyard. Is that ok ? Temperature (celsius) range from slight negatives with some very light snow to 35° in summer

I had a 2014 versys 650 parked outside in NYC UNCOVERED thru hurricanes, snowstorms, heat waves. I had it like that for 5 years without a single problem. It gave me a lot of confidence that the bike would start every single time I never even changed the battery. Then I got an Indian and it had so many electrical issues despite being garages and babied. My current bike is a versys 1000 and it’s has also been bulletproof.

I have my bike outside temporarily till I free up my garage project. i had a master link snap on me yesterday. first below freezing day of the year. some of the rollers have flash rusted too. only 2500 miles and four months on a DID chain. might be unrelated to exposure, but i've cleaned/lubed it regularly so idk YMMV

>>28117469I've kept my VFR1200 outside without a trickle charger for the last 5 years and it's fine. If you're going to put a cover on it, make sure that it's properly fastened up or else the wind gets under it and it'll work like a parachute and pull your bike over.
