As best as I understand, there was a team of engineers who knew how fucking cooked fords execs plan was to turn the mustang fwd, so they started a skunkworks project to develop their own mustang, using leftover money from other programs and working after-hours. when the public revolted the team presented the sn95 to the higherups and it was obviously approved. the constraints that came with being a skunkworks project explain why the 94 mustang didn't have access to the modular powerplants for the new generation, despite having already been in lincolns since 1991. it's also why they used a modified foxbody chassis as the base. the mustang is the everymans gt, and the sn95 is the MOST everymans gt, because it was created by people who knew how retarded and out of touch their corporate npc bosses were. it also carries the same powerplant as the original mustang. it feels like a 90s car with the soul of a 60s car. 94-95 mustang gts occupy a special place in my heart.
