>won WRC 5 times, last 3 ones were back to back
>won Le Mans 3 times in a row
>won Paris-Dakar 4 times
>won multiple car of the year awards
>made bulletproof engines (XUD, TU)
>trusted enough to make equipment for the French army
>used as taxis across Europe and Africa
>vans used as workhorses across Europe
>reliable, those who say peugeots are unreliable bought the wrong car, are retards who dont know shit, or amerimutts who first heard abt peugeot from some euro and wont shut the fuck up abt it
>laid the foundations for the modern hot hatch (205 T16, 205 Rallye, 106 Rallye, 306 Rallye)
>tried making sporty diesel cars before it was popular (205 STDT)
>cheap
why are ppl complaining? Peugeot know how to make good cars

Peugeot was good until the x07, x08 generations, then was completely trash by completely ignoring their old wisdom and bought engines from Ford.
Also they somehow forgot to do seats well.

Everything you mentioned (except 1-2 Dakar wins IIRC) happened over 25 years ago.

This here. Even the 206 was already shitty compared with the 205.
I owned a 2nd gen. 106 Rallye for several years and I really kicked that little thing. Most awesome Go-Kart I ever drove. Ate everything and demanded more. Gave her a group N exhaust system including catalytic converter and a sharper camshaft and she turned into a shrieking banshee. Friend had a brand new 206 around the same time and it was a workshop queen with tons of big and small issues.

peugeot stopped being good after the x05 generation
x06 was kind of OK but it was the beginning of the downfall
everything after that is really bad (yes that includes the 207)

its pretty telling that you use +25 year old talking points

French cars are my fetish (i am a ouiaboo or francophile) and my next car is either gonna be something obscure (for America) like a ZX Volcane or a 106/306 GTi or a Camaro SS 1LE

maybe a clio rs 172 or 206 rc if euros didnt all run them into the ground in 5 years

they come up ridiculously cheap relative to europe when theyre for sale in america for the amount of feels/fun you get where else can you get a 120hp/2100lb fwd car that loves to rev

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-citroen-ax/

$3500 for this ax gti

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1993-citroen-zx-volcane-2/

this i wish i bidded on badly, colombian spec zx volcane (lhd and rust free)

Don't US import laws demand standard spec with numbers matching engines?

Lol there's still tons of Clio Sports left this side of the pond, a lot were wrecked yeah but they're really good for not rusting compared to their peers from VW and Ford. I picked up pic related for 400 quid at an auction last month, would cost a load more than that to export it I guess and it would be RHD. There's probably less LHD ones around though.

That AX gti is pricey but they were great fun back in the day and there fuck all left now. you should buy it.

Fuck i wish importing cars from the UK wasn't such a fucking hassle. All of the good clios, saxos, axs, 106s... Have been driven into trees in Spain. I just want a french shitbox to throw around some wet narrow roads.
>>
>>28192352
no, its just french. and french means slightly different and anything that deviates from the accepted norm is as we all know the worst crap ever without any actual facts to back it up other than the fact its different.
>>
>>28198795
Prices are nuts in Europe. I can't find any mk2 RS but the below mk3s would be like £5-6k tops in the UK. If you're willing to put up with RHD it would probably be cheaper even with the hassle.

Portugal here, these cars were cheap a few years ago but prices are going bananas now.
You could get a twingo for like 300 € 10 years ago now it's more like 1.5-2k €.
>>
>>28198924
Previous gen (and not even the 182) are around 8000-9000€ with decent mileage (probably ridden to the limiter every time they drove, like they should). Fucking grim.
