Dear truck drivers:
We all hate you, everyone collectively hates driving near you, and if you disappeared the world would be a better place.
Stop blockading us on hills because “muh engine”
Stop merging into the fast lane when you know good and well you are only going to go 40mph up that fucking hill.
Stop acting like you’re doing us a favor by delivering goyslop to the corner store, you suck and we all know it.

Yeah I’m aware of how our system works, truckers are a blatant failure of our system, imagine a world where people would rather risk driving next to Sudan Sambo in an 18 wheeler than build efficient mag rail systems to deliver groceries.
Cheaper, easier, and less property damage by 7iQ methhead drivers.

I'll be honest with you, I don't think that having weed in your system or doing stimulants to stay alert is a big deal at all, there is a case to be made that stimulants make trucking safer as long as they keep to the hour limits. It seems like you're trying to find a scapegoat to justify your irrational hatred. Bad drivers are just bad drivers, whether in a truck or whatever.
Yeah, rail systems for commodities would be great, but that's just not how it is.

>>
>>28193469
No, the 200k figure shows us how big of a problem truck drivers really are.
They abuse drugs while working at an alarming rate, even though their job has some of the highest risks to other people.

Gonna dox my general area a little bit here but on route 68 in west MD the highway gradually goes downhill all the way from Grantsville to whatever is past Cumberland, and the steepest portion seems to be the stretch between Frostburg and Lavale, and I am beyond sick of idiot truckers riding their brakes down that entire mountain, smoke billowing off all 18 wheels, just so they can either get stopped in lavale by the cops and stink up the entire valley with roasted brakes, or go full retard and try to get through cumberland where they just crash because it's all downhill that way and their brakes are FUBAR at that point.

On a bit more of a sobering note, near Westernport there's a road (39°28'52"N 79°04'03"W) that descends an entire mountain, is incredibly steep, and then has a 90 degree turn at the bottom with nothing but solid rock to greet anyone who's going too fast, and it's covered with white crosses to represent all of the truckers who were going too fast and slammed into it at whatever speed was enough to squash them.

But like... shouldn't "how to not die going downhill" be one of the first things a truck driver learns? Or do none of them ever do any brake maintinence?

Also, we used to have one hell of a rail network here in the US, now all the tracks have been paved over so that we get to experience the privilage of being stuck behind a truck governed at 62mph trying to pass a truck governed at 60mph on a 70mph highway, which is just delightful.

Now we have tech bros trying to reinvent transportation and coming up with shit that boils down to a cybertruck on rails, which is dumb.

Yes I know the rail network would not get to everything but why can't my amazon order ride a train from Arizona to Virginia and then be trucked the last stretch home or something?

It might be slower NOW but if we hadn't bulldozed most of our train network and properly hybridized it with endpoint-trucking I'm sure it would have been developed over time and become much faster, but noooo let's pay someone who speaks about 13 words of english half the price we would pay an american to drive cross-country on 2 hours of sleep because otherwise we'll deport him and get some other sucker to do it.

There’s a mountain in California a few hours north of LA on one of the main highways and the trucks always overheat on the way up and blow their breaks on the way down. I helped one of them get fixed up and on his way then went to their shop to get paid and they were cartel Mexicans bringing in tons (literally) of drugs and distributing them via sealed shipments in unmarked trucks. I left with no pay and never called them again. No bed states after that incident.

Ain't nobody got time for dat!

Seriously though, it's become a world with newbs training newbs and neither one has seen a mountain road. I was lucky when I started driving big trucks and got an old hand as a trainer who made sure his trainees knew how to get through the mountains but most all of those guys moved on and companies use 3 month drivers as trainers and both will have quit the bullshit by their 6 month mark.

>but, but trucking schools!
They teach only what's needed to get the CDL, everything else is on the company that hires the student since 18 wheelers aren't exactly a common item to borrow for some experience.

The issue is that jakes aren't mandatory so most commerical drivers are shit out of luck if they're forced to go through any sort of mountain pass. Ideally the DOT would make jakes mandatory, but knowing how many places have regulations against jakes because of the noise and how cheap companies are, it'll probably never happen.

BTW, it should be noted that PACCAR products come with the truck configured to have the brake lights on when the jake is active as the default so just going by brake light activity doesn't mean they're actually on the foot brakes. You can usually pick out a PACCAR like that though as the brake lights are constantly coming on for 1, maybe 2 seconds, at a time as the driver lifts off the fuel trying to maintain position and getting some of the jake but not enough for actual jaking to occur.

In 2 years it would pay for itself and in 3 years would be in the green as a project
We wouldn’t have shitty roads
We wouldn’t have shitty truckers
We would cut yearly infrastructure maintenance cost by 1000x
Idk how this isn’t making sense to you idiots. The only reason it hasn’t been done is because fossil fuel companies lobby against growth and claim it would “cripple” our country to move away from it. Why do you think it took Elon so long to get an EV through?
I think teslas were made shitty on purpose as controlled opposition.
>>
>>28196858
It's not going to happen, but not for the reasons or boogeymen you think.
"Big Oil" had/has little (if anything) to do with eternal dumpster fire of California's light rail project.
Graft, political corruption and greed did.
Many things are they way they are in the U.S. and elsewhere, because some people discovered that it is the easiest way to funnel tax dollars into their bank accounts.
It's not a few corporate heads being greedy, it's innumerable petty bureaucrats and politicians and their familes/patrons who have decided "This Is Fine".
>>
>>28195448
I live in a country that has loads of trains and you still need plenty of trucks anyway.

Trains are great for moving high volume across large distance. They don't get things on the shelves of shops etc.

The ones that people are complaining about that cause traffic and clog up roads are mainly doing the "last mile" type stuff in built up areas, where the people are, and these don't go away even with a good rail network.
>>
>>28193424
While incredible in theory, the modern US would never be able to get its shit together long enough to actually find and construct something like this.
>>
>>28196825
>I thought DOT was real strict about their rules.
Just like with everything else the rules are only applied to Whites.

Ostensibly the reason they're lax towards immigrants is that the enforcement types don't want to be called racist but this fails inspection because they're going to be called racist anyway.

tl;dr political bullshit by people who should know better by now
>>

>>28196929
We also have innumerably many faggots driving long haul trucks on the interstates doing shit like trying to pass other trucks uphill with only 2 lanes each way to work with, which inevitably means they hold up traffic for 20 miles because the passing truck can only go at max 2 mph faster than the slower truck thanks to both speed regulators and it having shit acceleration, too. If ever I was going to support investing hundreds of billions if not trillions into expanding the rail networks, it would be to get them off the road.
>>
>>28196858
This is fantast thinking, it would cost way more than $300b to build and way more than $100m to maintain yearly. It would cost at least 2 orders of magnitude more, not to mention the operating costs.
>>
>>28193283
Today I was driving and this semi kept swerving lanes like an idiot, I drove up beside him and locked him in the right lane, and since my pickup is more maneuverable he couldn’t shake me by slowing down or speeding up.
Was funny to watch him scream while cars were merging in front of him and he had to actually use his brakes.
It was even better when he was stuck in the slow lane behind another truck going even slower.
You inspired me OP and I found a new way to big-dick truckers.

So every time a Wal-Mart or Aldi's is built, you expect the city to build the infrastructure to have a tram system set up to delivery stock to that store?
You are not figuratively retarded if you think that's feasible, but actually mentally retarded. That's something a down syndrome kid would think up.

>well thought out non-reply paragraph

Really makes me think
>>
>>28193692

They are not thinking. Most cyclists are just completely delusional and think they own the road. There is this back road where I use to live, lots of hills and lots of blind spots, speed limit on the road is 55MPH with most people doing 60-65MPH. This road is also very narrow, barely enough room for two cars side by side. Cyclists would always be on this road riding 2-3 feet away from the shoulder(shoulder was gravel). If they were going down the hill and you were going up the hill behind them there was no way you could see them until you were ~25-30 feet away from them.

Thankfully for them I pay attention when I drive and even then I almost rammed into a few of them who were dumb enough to be riding on this road. A few times a year there will be a news article about a cyclist getting run over and sent to the hospital or killed. Yet, cyclists still ride on that road. They are dumb as fuck and have no self-preservation.

>>union blaming in the year of our lord 2025

Most people in unions are worthless lazy fucks because they know they will never get fired. I had the misfortune of working on a union site once, some lazy union fuck turned a 1 hour job into a 7 hour job. All he had to do was hang a piece of 4'x4' plywood on the wall so we could mount our equipment to. He kept bitching about how its a union site and we couldn't do it since we weren't in the union. We got tired of his bullshit and just hung the plywood ourselves(it took less than 5 minutes) and then completed our job. This worthless fuck saw it and had the audacity to complain about how "you can't do that!". Most unions are completely deprecated and should cease to exist. Worthless fucks 90% of them.

You are the reason this thread exists to begin with though aren’t you?
Is this not a thread for people who hate driving near trucks? Maybe drive better and don’t be an asshole and we wouldn’t hate you.
You are reinforcing our original topic though so I gues thanks for the contribution! Your posts are a prime example of why truckers are retard bots and shouldn’t be on the road.

Being a drone at swift no-lifing, home 1-2 days a month if that while getting paid $60k/year.
Yeah it’s not worth it. I only sleep in the truck 3-4 times a week. I’m usually home Friday night till Monday morning. Back Monday night and out again Tuesday morning.
This is my heat map. I live in central PA. Off I80. Conditions couldn’t be more ideal for what I do. Than I do 120-150k net year.

Honestly someday soon. Maybe 2-5 years I want to take the local pill and do end dump. It’s the meta for central PA because you live in the halfway point between the trash on the east coast and the steel in Cleveland Pittsburgh. You take Demo, scrap, trash out of NJ,NY and dump in in Ohio. Than load steel coils shotgun style. Going back to the coast. It’s a win win hack. As trash pays west and steel pays east.
The guys in my area drive like 400 miles a day mon-Friday. And are home every night.
I will admit I’m spooked about possibly flipping my truck over.
>>
LMAO funny thing EF. I was driving through Pennsylvania earlier today and I thought I saw your truck. Upon closer inspection it was the wrong color but it looked black because it was dusk.

Here is an end dump with chain pulls and coil rack welded down the middle.
When I found out these fuckers were steeling my coils it made me feel ways.
See if your a flatbed regional it looks like this. Coil OH-NJ $1700. Then backhaul NJ-Ohio pays an average of $800.

With an end dump you take the coil to Jersey. Than get the premium rate when u haul demo out to Ohio for $1800. So it’s a no backhaul lane hack.

Truckerfag here.

I'm one of the good ones. It used to never be like this when I started. The industry got flooded with migrants, niggers and spics who had no business driving anything bigger than a Hot Wheels car. COVID brought all of this about and these Johnny Come Lately fly-by night truck companies, "investment firms" and 1099 Russian outfits from Chiraq filled the void left by all the Boomers who retired during COVID.

Many of these people don't speak English which is a DOT requirement to hold a CDL. I got lucky and was trained by old timers. Unfortunately, Billy Bob passed the torch to Jamal, Abdul Al-Aziz and Dinesh none of which are actually qualified to drive these things, all these companies see are quarterly profits. And with the advent of the automatic transmission, most of the idiot filters are gone, shit that would filter these types of people out. If you couldn't walk and chew bubble gum you didn't get behind the wheel.

It's not just trucking, shit's fucked all across the board. AI will come for all of our jobs by the time I come to retire anyway, if I ever get to retire.
