Why you guys think that driving manual is entertaining? It's not.
>>
>>28194566
i drive it in simulators and do clutch dumps in my h pattern rig for the lols
got sick of it irl
>>
>>28194566
it is, except in traffic jams.
There, my take is less absolute than yours and therefore correct. Eat shit automatic fag.
>>
>>28194566
It is if you are not driving your mom's 1.0 nissan micra. I DD a w210 automatic because due to gay ass trafic I don't want to press and depress my clutch 6 gorrilion times, but I do love spirited driving out of city or a race track with my mk2 gti, if I had a boring regular peoples toyota or some other boring shitbox it could be entertaining, but not as much. TLDR depends from car and driving conditions

Thx for reading my blog

Its not just about entertainment its about control. I'm dailying an auto at the moment and I hate not having complete agency over what the engine is doing and how to modulate the revs through a corner because the car dictates it for me. Coming in hot and going halfway round a bend when the car shifts up, giving you less control, isn't very confidence inspiring
>>
>>28195141
>Its not just about entertainment its about control.
This. Imagine not wanting to have full control of what gear you are in... You might as well just go ahead and get a self driving car or ride the bus if you don't want to control every aspect of your driving...

I always see this argument but in like 99% of decent autos from the last 15 years you can select gears anyway.
>>
Maybe if you have a fast car an automatic is still fun but I drive a 3 cylinder and going up hills without being able to stay in a low gear, would absolutely suck dick. Ive driven stick for almost two years and I still enjoy it but no doubt one day it will get fucking boring.

Are you seriously suggesting that driving an autotragic somehow takes more skill than a manual. I don't know if you've ever driven an old torque converter slushmatic auto but they have a mind of their own. The box dictates the pace, not the driver. I'm not talking about some whizbang DCT or ZF gazillion speed box.

I drive a DCT. The automatic sometimes doesn't do what I want it to, so I often put it in manual mode to make it do what I want. I put it in automatic when I get in traffic, especially when traffic speed is fluctuating, and at that point I usually turn on the ACC. I like driving, I don't like faggots in traffic.

Here's something an automatic can't do:

Assume you are ready to pass someone and are waiting for the other lane to clear. Your car cannot know what you will do soon. In a manual, you can downshift ahead of time and once you're passing you can take advantage of the extra acceleration to more easily overtake.

>>
>>28199218
Sure, but pretty much every modern automatic gives you the option to throw it in manual mode so you can tell the computer to change gears to what you want it to be, so in this situation you can just downshift manually and then return control to the computer as and when you see fit.

Or can you not afford anything made in the last 10 years?
>>
>>28199271
>get $35k loan on a new car
>fork over a quarter of your monthly income towards insuriance and payments for the next 4-6 years
>get raped by the dealers becuase you cannot perform maintenance without special tooling a majority of the time
Or
>buy shitter on marketplace for <5 grand
>maintain it for pennies on the dollar and spend about half as much for insuriance
>the loss in gas mileage hardly makes a dent in what you save in the long run
>learn to work on your own shit as a bonus and maybe help your friends out here and there

Of course you do!
You wouldn't buy a literal chinkmobile if you wanted to have fun! You'd only buy a literal chinkmobile if you wanted that you could just press the pedal on and it could get you places "good enough".

So why did you buy a manual then? Probably because chinks have no yet mastered the automatic gearbox and you're cheap. So if you didn't buy a manual to have fun, why are you pretending to be surprised that you're not having fun?
>>
>>28199301
So you're broke, then. Got it.
>>
>>28199373
I dont throw away money on frivolous wastes of time like modern vehicles which are mostly just luxuries. Anything more than A/C, power steering, and a radio is unnecessary.
Also enjoy your dealer selling your info that your car collects to your insuriance company so they can charge you extra based on your driving habits for not being a good goy.

>>
>>28199446
I see you, too, have not driven any automatic made even remotely recently. You can manually determine which gear the car is in, yes the computer is doing the shifting but you are ultimately determining which gear it's in, I don't care if you don't think that's "pure" enough to be called a "manual mode," it's what normal people who don't exclusively drive 35 year old beaters that they keep together with spit and duct tape because they're too poor to afford anything newer.

>>
>>28199575
I've read that C7 Corvettes (and probably other Chevy's) sometimes do this when the computer decides your decision would asplode the engine, too. Could be he was trying to shift up when the engine was too cold and the revs were too low.
