I have more fun in a 100 hp manual than a 500hp automatic and I've DD'd manual for 20 years now so it isn't a novelty thing. I like it, it makes driving fun. I drive any automatic exactly the same no matter what it is and so does everyone else. It's boring.

I drive a DCT. The automatic sometimes doesn't do what I want it to, so I often put it in manual mode to make it do what I want. I put it in automatic when I get in traffic, especially when traffic speed is fluctuating, and at that point I usually turn on the ACC. I like driving, I don't like faggots in traffic.

Here's something an automatic can't do:Assume you are ready to pass someone and are waiting for the other lane to clear. Your car cannot know what you will do soon. In a manual, you can downshift ahead of time and once you're passing you can take advantage of the extra acceleration to more easily overtake.
