Car ordering parts going digital and direct from manufacturer.
>330$ for a brake caliperenjoy your sore anus
That is not how right to repair works, pal.
>>28195557You couldn't buy Tesla parts before? What the fuck, how does one repair a vehicle if you can't buy parts for it?
>>28195707you take it to the dealer and get raped
>>28195707Like all other cars. You take it to mechanics/dealers.
>>28195557Ordering some parts is not quite the same. I can order brakes for my truck right from toyota, doesn't mean I can order a capacitor for the ECU when that shits the bed. I have to figure it out myself, or order a whole new ECU.Right to repair wants schematics so when the main computer or some other PCB dies, we can diagnose it, and replace the defective chips. This allows for cheap repair of a board to be in the hundreds with a skilled laborer doing the work vs thousands just for the part alone because you have to order a fully assembled main board or controller.
>>28195606If that's a monoblock 4 piston caliper that's dirt cheap. Good luck finding one for cheaper.
>>28195557so teslapartswarehouse or some shit? lol what the fuck, its news for wrenchlets i guess.>you can just buy your own car parts whoa dude i had no idea
>>28195557I’ve done that for years for my BMWs. Find part on realoem, order from FCPeuro or local euro parts store.
>>28196302>>28196299The difference is that suppliers refused to make Tesla parts when they were new and untested and so they had to make most of their own in house. What you're looking at is now direct manufacturer parts vs third party suppliers.
>>28196280it looks like the fuckin cheap caddilac ctsv calipers exept they just slapped their name on it like gm was doing.
>>28196348Except the ctsv were shittily cast 2 piece assembly. The ones op posted look like monoblock calipers from the picture. Which would be substantially better for not much more money.
>>28195606>$700+ for a rotorHoly fuck, I can get full powdercoated powerstop kits for that price.
>>28196280>If that's a monoblock 4 piston caliper that's dirt cheap. Good luck finding one for cheaperSRT Brembo calipers are 1/2 that price.
Can't wait to buy some Premium Tesla Wood Brackets and Masking Tape
>>28195557>still voids the warrantylol
>>28195557i wish more companies did this, fucking hate ringing up for parts.
>>28196779Show a screenshot, let's see this.
>>28197122>Show a screenshot, let's see this.Go on rockauto and look at any 300, magnum, charger, or challenger srt, they all use the same 4 piston Brembo, and even the OEM New MOPAR ones are $188.
>>28197305>UHHH UHHH IF YOU BUY THE CHEAPEST SHITTEST AFTERMARKET MADE IN PRC CALIPER ON ROCKAUTO ITS CHEAPER!!!!!!not even a tesla fan but come the fuck on nigger
>>28197337I said OEM New MOPAR.Learn to read faggot.
>>28197515I can't find them it's all no name remans. Link?
>>28196280
Some moron is gonna get electrocuted working on his Tesla.
>>28195557>"Why yes, we do support right to repair!">Parts are stupid expensive>Everything is proprietary>Special tools/programs required for anything more than a brake job>Same price or cheaper to just take your car back to the dealership for repairsCongrats tessietards, you got apple'd.
>>28195557dont care, still getting my $50 calipers from rockauto
>>28198017shitty floating caliper>>28198033much smaller braketry harder niggernot even the guy youre replying to
>>28195557That's impressive and goes with their "no dealers" way of selling. I wish every other automaker sold online offering their full parts line.
>>28198090>floating caliperBad bait, 2/10 made me reply. Turn your trip back on faggot.
>>28195707Years ago, Tesla was extremely tight lipped about info regarding repairs. They absolutely DID NOT support the right to repair. It’s why the “durr durr it’s an appliance” meme was started.
>>28196252Yeah we need the whole "Technical Data Package" for the entire car to be released
>>28196252>>28198053Does any other manufacturer besides Tesla have their diagnostic tool included in the car, free for anyone to access? This looks better than anything I've seen from any other brand that charges out the ass or makes it impossible to get a factory scan tool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBiyXvu6V54
Teslas are such a faggy tech toy that selling parts is now "right to repair" like it's an iphone.
>>28198303You'd be surprised how much better that is than other modern manufacturers. I bought a BMW bike last year and sold that almost immediately when I found out that BMW doesn't even sell parts to non dealers, much less repair manuals.
