>>28199934if you need to transport more than 1 passenger regularly then don't get either. yes, the brz has a back row but it's very small and nobody is going to want to sit in it very long. otherwise? it's pretty great. one concern everyone has is space. the brz has more than a miata so it's common to get one as an in-between sensible yet fun car. but the miata is actually pretty underrated in this respect. the trunk is small but you would be surprised what you can fit.you can also cheat by taking the top down and using the passenger seat for tall items (or making your passenger hold it). if you go on road trips you may want to invest in duffel bags for an easier fit.miatas are generally reliable and cheap to repair. but if you want an ND be wary of model years 2016, 2022, and 2023 with low mileage because they might have manual transmission issues. i hear brzs are pretty reliable too. don't read too much about them so i'm not sure about their common issues. i would avoid buying a new gr86 though because i've heard toyota is shitty when it comes to honoring their warranty.don't know about older models but nd miatas are fairly fuel efficient at ~30mpg combined but it requires 91 octane so i guess it evens out. brz/gr86 has worse mpg and also requires 91. personally i went with the miata because i realized i don't need much space and if i went with a brz i'd be missing out on a more fun car with a convertible top just for slightly more utility that i'm probably never going to need. now i've been dailying it for a few months and it's pretty great. only experience is i spend way more on gas than i expected because it's too damn fun to drive!

>>28199934it depends on what you need it for daily stuff. miata can do small grocery runs. trunk fits a carry on suitcase and a backpack or two. my rifle case has to go in the passenger seatalso you mentioned mustang as an alternative. those are heavy as fuck and nothing like driving a miata/brz. if you dont mind not having rear wheel drive and the ugliness (imo) you could look at hot hatches like GTI etc which are much more practical in terms of storage and passenger space
