This is what a real sports car looks like
>>28200290
>>28200312i mean they're both similar wheelbase, both 4wheel independant suspension, aside from looks what can you honestly tell me seperates them from aesthetic differences and that the ariel has some more horsepower?the cateram is alot lower entry cost and it's not like you couldn't buy a caterham and put a turbo v8 in it 3 times over for the price of an ariel
>>28200290Nice, nice. Now lets compare pricing and usability.
>>28200470>usability
>>28200475Lovely photos of wildlife in Africa, whats that got to do with Caterhams, Ariels, and Mazdas?
>>28200290Building your own kit car only limited by your imagination, build a 4 cylinder soap box?
>>28200494Buddy, unless you plan on privateering in LeMans, you do not need that much power. There's also the price, cheapest 2.0L Caterham is 50k USD, while the Ultima RS is over 100k.
>>28200491Everything can be usable if you accept some inconvenience
>>28200290>gorrilion dollars
>>28200464>>28200312Caterham is a much better design than the atom. It doesn't have any weird ass things that don't make sense like using a (relatively fragile mind you) adjustable rod ends as ball joints on parts of the suspension that aren't actually adjustable. Also bear in mind, the seven is designed as a racecar and is actively raced even today, extremely popular still in the UK. Atom was only ever meant to be a street toy.
>>28200513There are some dirt cheap kit cars like Locost or DF Goblin
a RWD opentop powered by a Duratec, its the same thing innit?
>>28200290Let's see OPs Caterham
>>28200475Based.>>28200470>usabilityFuck off soccer mom.
>>28200312I'd much rather have a 160 than any track day special.
>>28200671I'd rather be called a soccer mom in a miata than look like a fuckin dork wearing goggles and buggs splattered on my face in an unimpressive cat ham 7.
>>28200798>dork wearing goggles and buggs splattered on my face in an unimpressive cat ham 7.And yet it still smoked a 997 GT2, Enzo and Veyron on a trackhttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Top_Gear_test_track_Power_Lap_times
with cars becoming more nanny-techâ„¢, in the future the only way to stay cool in /o/ is to either have a ton of money to buy your way out or make your own. or settle for the bus or a chinese electric car
*gets kidnapped*
why can't they be MR?
When roof and doors are an option you can safely assume the Safety Nazis weren't invited.
How many people here have actually built a kit car though?
>>28201986i think we are all starting now. im looking at a wrecked rx8 for a donor could be cool
For me, it's a much cheaper Westfield with a 250+hp Ecoboost and the potential for silly power very easily.
