The day doug reviews and thus triples the price of some cool rare obscure barge before I get one, say a '75 roadrunner, a '73 grand-am, or '77 can-am, is the day I KILL HIM WITH MY BARE HAaANDS
>>
>best sports car for so many people
>15,000 were produced for North America
Sounds like only 15,000 people in North America can have one, not "so many people"
>>mcdonalds on all 4
Why is that a bad thing? What makes it bad? What makes it worse than a double wishbone suspension?
>>
>>28201791
It is objectively worse for handling and ride comfort
>>
>>28201791
No camber gain, prone to under steer also it's just another way they make cars cheaper. You will notice most of the cheapest shittiest cars are McDonald's on all 4.
>>
>>28201791
Cost cutting, something that should not have a place on a "premium brand sports car"

My ram had double wishbone front

My current nigsan has a double wishbones front
>>
>>28202413
Cope, even a nigsan Z is more of a sports car than a NARP
>>
>It eats high-g corners for breakfast, yet even with abrupt throttle changes refuses to bite back with more than a subtle rear-end shake.

>Under hard transitional maneuvers, the Boxster feels confidently stable and responsive. Nimble, agile, predictable, yet forgiving, it's the kind of car that can make you feel like a rally champion without demanding race-honed driving skills.

>With the standard suspension and 16-inch tires, the Boxster's ride is sportingly taut, yet more compliant than that of a 911. The car charges over bumps with rock-solid composure, never sacrificing dynamic stability. The 17-inch tires give away a little ride comfort, and the sport suspension becomes quite firm, especially on rough pavement.

>The rack-and-pinion steering is somewhat lighter, a little more isolated, and not as razor sharp as the 911's, yet it controls the car with laserlike accuracy and fluid feedback.
Weird, when you read a period review about a Boxster, all they do is praise the handling. It's almost as if benchracing retards on mongolian basket weaving forum don't know what they're talking about.
>>
imagine being a car reviewer in the beginning of the death of dignity of car ownership, like wow, this car has 400lbs of canbus and sensors and only 2 of them are used to scan your facial structure to sell your identity or raise your insurance rates for driving 10 over.
>>
>>28202422
funny you should say that
>>
>>28201830
You're delusional. Everything short of a $500,000 car has cost cutting everywhere you look.
>>
>>28202426
Most auto journalists are retards like Doug who review cars on on-ramps.
Real sports cars have double bones
>>
>>28201704
so it's baisically a subaru.
why doesn't subaru make a mid-engined sportscar? they have the perfect platform for it.
>>
>>28203611
>low tier rebuttal
No, professional journalists are not the same as your jewtube idol. They get longer access to the vehicle and get to test it over more conditions.
>>
>>28201791
>Why is that a bad thing? What makes it bad? What makes it worse than a double wishbone suspension?
Because busriders who could never explore the handling limits of a car with McPherson corners have read it's bad.
>>
>>28203855
I remember seeing a video of some dude in Japan who swapped an EJ into his MR-S and I thought it was kind of neat.
>>
>>28201704
His videos are just ads for the stupid auction site now. Why would he trash something he's trying to sell? This car even had aftermarket exhaust and he just glossed over it.
>>
>>28201704
I thought the newer boxsters werer 400hp
>>
>>28201712
Why would he review a car he won't sell on his website?
>>
>>28204236
Only if you get the insanely overpriced top trim, otherwise you're stuck with some Subaru-tier 4-banger
>>
>>28203874
How can a boxster handle well of its got sub standard suspension set up to understeer and absorb potholes on the way to the mall?
It’s a legally blonde car for trophy wives
>>
>>28203874
Sadly Porsche knows what they are doing. If they actually take the Bixster good handling it would expose how bad the engine is starved of oil in sweeping right handers

Giving you a set of sticky tires is 100x cheaper for the manufacturer than for them to give you bones or multi link.

It's really weird how he shows favoritism to Porsche and other Germanslop. 6.1 seconds 0-60 is fine in the Porscheslop but an 86 or Miata with similar spec is "down on power"?

They’re in like every dodge bmw high power Audi Bentley Aston Martin Alfa Romeo, 8 speed GM is a clone, jeep Chrysler, Land Rover, rolls Royce and I’m sure others I’m forgetting.

It’s reliable without maintenance for warranty periods. It’s durable for 1000nm torque. It’s kinda fast at shifting. It takes 180ms.
The M car SMG / Lambo single clutch took 100ms

The DCT takes 60ms.

The DCT is also simply a better piece of performance hardware. It can downshift faster for engine braking by skipping gears where the ZF can go from 8 to 1 fats not otherwise has to slug through the motions to get there snd you get the awkward useless slow 7-8 gears in your way.

Basically the ZF8 is fine. It’s not as good as a DCT except that it exists and it can endure modern torque figures.
Audi didn’t fork up the cash for a DCT upgrade like Porsche bc they’re going electric. That’s the reality of these. They’re not bad but they’re not sporty. Great for a truck or SUV and simply acceptable in a sports car. Really too heavy and big vs a DCT but hey, cutting costs gets executives bonuses.

>>
I've just always wanted one because of the lines. The shapes. There's thing going on in the bodywork of these things that make the engine not even matter, it's like a modern karman ghia to me.

I'd still only have one in manual and obviously I'd want whatever is fucked up in there to be unfucked but at the end of the day I'd just want to drive it like a karman ghia.

All I'm gonna ask is that it turns and do an occassional-but-predictable slide.
