>More than 3 million Commodores where sold in Australia
How did Opel manage to sell so many shitty Opels to Australians?
>>
>>28204768

homo 14" fit just roll to end and are next to nothing to replace with facrory made ones
>>

australians figured out how to put glorious pushrods in them. germans were confused by pushrods and couldn't figure them out. Opel tried an LS in the Omega, but failed at getting the car to run properly. the smarter australian engineers figured it out, and as far as i'm concerned, the Opel and Australian platforms might as well be two completely different cars. after all, you can LS swap one, but not the other.
>>
>shitty Opel's
Just like wet water

you're going to be surprised but australians are genuinely a very low IQ people. they have never produced a single funny comedian despite being, on average, quite funny people - they just lack the intellectual wherewithal to process such things internally as an exportable product. as a people they are dangerously low in intelligent thought and so any dilligent foreign company has learned to corner the auto market there.

Australia has fairly bad roads, der opel could be made amenable to them
>>28204873

up until the alloytech they were reasonably low tech and built for the conditions. most 8 year olds in australian outer suburbs can rebuild a commodore from scratch

Kino badge.

Strange, considering the best engine ever offered in an opel-commodore platform was a sohc l6.
>>
>>28209099
Are you really going to argue an RB30 is better than a LS1 that makes double the hp stock with the same weight and unlimited potential? I love I6's too but not enough to move the car's CoG forward by 2 cylinders

I miss when corporate overlords actually let Opel do cool shit.

The Diplomat was available with a 327 Chevy in the 1960s and 1970s.

Hard to disagree.

It’s reliable and very tune able, Lotus used part from that engine for the Lotus Opel Omega/Carlton.
Can’t find it on Google right now (cause Google search sucks nowadays), it was a proper documentation about all the engineering that went into the car.
The OG 3.0 24v Dual Ram had tons of issues under boost, so they used the Irmscher version because it was strengthened version.

Sad that Irmscher who was to Opel/Vauxhall and some older Holdens what Brabus was to Mercedes stopped being part of the company anymore.
They still build shit, but it’s mostly mediocre body kits and ok looking wheels.
