Are single cab trucks a big inconvenience?
>>28207103If you are used to the bigger cabs yeah. Having the extra room makes a big difference imo. It is less noticeable is you are running service box or something like that.
not being able to lay your seats back feel like torture.
>>28207103My first car was an old single cab pickup so having a back seat and trunk is actually too much for me to really find useful even years later. The visibility in a single cab is unmatched, especially without tint
>>28207103I have no problem with single cabs but pickups these days are designed to be crew cab and look awkward with a single cab.
>>28207103Yeah they're like driving a chastity cage. Not being able to recline your seat fucking sucks. It's a bitch to get at the 2'' of cargo room you got behind the seat. Unless you plan on doing a drag build single cabs only make sense with a long bed but since you have fuck all for storage room you have to run a bed box which turns your long bed into a short bed. It's just a stupid configuration. Extended cabs are just infinitely more practical though even those don't make a lot of sense compared to a crew cab.
>>28207103Depends on the use case. As a daily they're not ideal, but for doing work they're probably the most convenient. If it's for a job or if you want a truck for a second vehicle I'd say a regular cab long bed is best.
>>28207103No, I like my RCLB OBS F150. 8x4 bed is the best.I'd be okay with a CCLB but you're only getting those now with an F250 or bigger.
>>28207103I think as far as a truck goes they are ideal aesthetically. I have a crew cab with a 5' bed and I feel its small, but I used to have a chevy express company van for work and could fit a lot of shit in that. So if its a daily vehicle and your only one I would say get a crew, but if its a secondary for work only or if you are a farmer or do some type work that requires lots of material don't short yourself on the bed length.
>>28207103More space in the cab is always the best option. I've had single cab, extended cab, and crew cab trucks and I wouldn't even consider a single cab. The Ram Mega Cab is one of the most based options of all because there's extra storage behind the rear seats. Downside is you can't get it with an 8 foot bed.
>>28207103Extended cab long bed is the one true truck configuration, all else is gay shit.
Extended cab is best for the climate controlled storage space
>>28207834Nice grocery getter lol. Nice soccer mom truck, fag lmao. I'm sure you can fit so many reusable trader joes bags in that back seat.
>>28207890>The poor notruck nofrens cityfag has such a small brain that he can only conceptualize himself and how he would utilize a truck.>Fills the back with trader joes bagspredictable kek
>>28207103Not for fags. (90% of pickup owners)
Single cabs are fine as long as you aren't transporting kids around. Sometimes the extra inside storage space is nice in a n extended cab or crewcab for coats and tools and whatnot that you don't want riding in the back.
Personally I prefer the extended cab with at a minimum 6 1/2" bed.
>>28208010That'd be ideal for me too. I have a midsize crew cab 5' bed truck because it's what I could find with the options I wanted at the budget I had (and it fit in my old driveway, while a half ton equivalent wouldn't), and it gets the job done, but it often involves tailgate down and lots of ratchet straps for stuff I could fit into a 6 1/2' bed with the tailgate up. My next truck will probably be an extended cab half ton.
>>28207994It's always the effeminate urbanites that want to drive the big trucks. Crew cab makes them feel like a man or something i guess.
>>28208079>Crew cab makes them feel like a man or something i guess. The crew cab is where they put the groceries, silly!
>>28208085Yeah it's embarrassing lol. May as well just buy a minivan at that point.

>>28207376>>28207834>>28207397>>28207988So do you guys use your truck for work, or as a couch?
>>28208230There are times that having extra room is pretty much a necessity with small more fragile shit. Single cabs are dying for good reason
>>28207391Ive seen crew cab 3/4 tons with small blocks and 3.55 rear ends.Basically an f150 but you get a 2nd fuel tank and arguably the best manual ever mounted in a pickup. Assuming it doesnt have the grenade-o-matic.
>>28207103I drive a two-seater and don't miss the rear seats. Crew-cab = soccer mom roastoid.
>>28207103anon what more could you possibly need out of a truck? (if it isn't your daily)
>>28207834>The Ram Mega Cab is one of the most based options of all because there's extra storage behind the rear seats. Downside is you can't get it with an 8 foot bed.My wife had to have a mega cab Dodge. I told her to find one with no emissions bullshit and a 6 speed, and she did. Lol. >>28208331Nice OBS!
>>28208241>Ive seen crew cab 3/4 tons with small blocks and 3.55 rear ends.>Basically an f150 but you get a 2nd fuel tank and arguably the best manual ever mounted in a pickup. Assuming it doesnt have the grenade-o-matic.I have one that is a CCLB F-350 4x4 with the 351W and ZF5 speed. I imagine that thing would be a pretty bulletproof drivetrain. Thinking about putting a 7.3idi in there. But I might entertain keeping the gasser in there too. Been driving a 99 F-350 with the V10 and standard around the farm in the winter the past few years. It's nice having a gasser in the wintertime.
>>28208235Then use a van, retard

single cab is chad's configuration of choice. kek at all you weak faggots whining about not being able to recline your seat.
>fold all the seats down and it's a single cab with a 8' bed but you can still recline the seats>pop the 2nd row up and it's a crew cab with a 6' bedcheckm8 atheist's
>>28207834Just admit this vehicle suits your needs better
>>28207103I daily drive a ute for work. It's only an inconvenience if you are poor and it's your only car and you have children
>>28209043>>28209130Interior would be fucked after the next time I go hunting or have to haul otherwise gross shit but can't use my trailer. Upside to truck bed is I can hose it out.
Single cab trucks are what you buy for your employees to drive around since they’re gonna fuck it anyway. Mainly helps because the confined interior space forces the wagies to keep it slightly cleaner than their normal pigsty. If you can only afford one vehicle then a single cab pickup is a pretty weak choice as it just doesn’t have the flexibility of a truck with a bigger cab but it is the cheapest.
>>28209130>Just admit this vehicle suits your needs betterWhere do you hook the gooseneck trailer?
>>28207103I daily one of these little shits, it's doable if you don't intend on transporting people, and short legs because there's not a lot of space for the seat, upsides is that since the cabin is so small, it takes no time for the AC/Heater to work, rear visibility is great, and it looks way better than the double cab
>>28209135beautiful color
>>28208230If you don't routinely use a truck then I question what you do with your life. How do you get pallets to the bonfire? What about the dirt bikes?Do you put muddy camping gear in your trunk?Do you swamp your civic on the boat ramp? And this is coming from someone who uses a camry to get livestock feed- I can fit (18) 50 pound bags of feed in the trunk (no spare tire). But I'm also a realist and know when to use the proper tool for the job.I have a tiny SxS (by today's standards)- it's only a 473cc 2 seater cub cadet and it still weighs 1,487 pounds. With trailer im looking at easily 2,500+ pounds. How am I getting that out to my cabin without a truck?
>>28210927Tiny onions-based faggot brains can't comprehend why people could possibly need trucks. It's pointless trying to argue with people who lack the frontal lobe mass requisite to the discussion.

>>28207836I’m with this anon. Nobody wants to go in the back seat so you don’t have to give rides to randos, and you have a little room in the cab to toss a tool bag if you don’t want to leave it laying out in the bed while you run into Home Depot.
>>28207103>Are single cab trucks a big inconvenience?A truck that has less cargo space than passenger space is an inconvenience.
>>28207836I have to agree. Enough interior space to haul people around if you absolutely have to, also enough room to keep sensitive items dry / cool / warm / out of the wind. And that big ol bed for actual trugg stuff. Good call anon.
>>28207103Any truck is a big inconvenience, to the owner and to the public
>>28210927>>28211662I have no qualms with pickup trucks, or people who own them.I just dislike that work vehicles are used for fashion, like unlaced timberlands or pristine Carhartts
>>28213912Where the fuck is this definition of truck that says they can ONLY be work vehicles? When the fuck will you euros realize this hasn't been the case for decades now? Why the fuck are you using a "sports car" to drive in traffic to your job?
>>28212860This post is /hm/ approved
>>28207103Yeah. Pickups in general are garbage. SUVs completely mog them in terms of comfort and utility in anything that doesn't involve towing 15k+ lbs or hauling messy shit unprotected.Wagoneer, Suburban, or Expedition is what you need for a family.
>>28214205SUVs are minivan without the sliding doors
>>28214206If you say so. In my experience, they're dramatically less capable vehicles.
>>28214205>Wagoneer, Suburban, or Expedition is what you need for a family.Sure but those are all pretty close to $90k or more. That little bit of ride quality improvement over a pickup truck isn't really worth it over a cheaper pickup for a family of 4. t.real Suburban owner
>>28210927Wow talk about triggered.None of your rant answered anon's question. I don't even think you understood his post. Why do you need to recline your seat? I have never once fully reclined my seat. Now to be fair the few times I have slept in my car I have just done so in the trunk space, but how often are you guys sleeping in your truck that the ability to fully recline the drivers seat is a make or break feature? Everything you listed can be done in a single cab pick up. Do you even understand what this thread is about?
>>28214229Only new. Muh trugg dudes keep resale high on pickups while you can buy a used SUV for significantly cheaper. Also,>Family of 4>90k is a big purchaseNot realistically. You'd be a homeowner and non meet at that point.T. Real Grand Wagoneer owner
>>282073761. You don't have to use a bed box. I had enough room behind the seat in my square body that I didn't need any extra room for basic tools and jumper cables or whatnot.2. A bed box does not turn a long bed into a short bed. If you're getting a few sheets of plywood or 2x4s they all still fit underneath. And on the rare occasion you need to use all of the bed space, you generally know that sort of thing in advance so it's trivial to take the bed box off. 3. You sound gay and retarded.>>28207389>>28207397Sensible posts. Also regular cab long bed lifted fucks hardddd
>>28214205In Australia we use the Land Cruiser and the Patrol for towing. Some people will buy utes to use as off roaders or for camping trips, and tradies that buy utes will also use them as a family car. But outside of rural areas where people are regularly moving a bunch of dirty crap, people choose SUVs over utes 90% of the time because they are just superior in almost every single way. You can fill a wagon with so much more stuff for a camping trip then a ute. The only use cases where I would prefer a ute over a wagon is if I was going fishing, hunting or dirt biking. Fishing is fine with a wagon, just less convenient. Hunting and dirt biking are awesome but because I am a cityfag I don't get to do these activites often at all, but I do go camping with my mates a few times a year and for this the wagon is just way better, and of course is way better for general city life too.
>>28214240>Only newUhh yeah but we have to keep shit realistic here. I love my 20 year old SUV but I'm not going to tell somebody in the market for a new truck/SUV to go buy one. That would be stupid. A 4 year old Suburban is still $50k or more. You can spend around that or slightly more and get a really nice new pickup truck.>Family of 4>90k is a big purchaselol okay.
