i am going out of my fucking mind trying to find this tiny fucking piece of metal that's no bigger than a fucking fingernail.

it is a cap shaped thing that is a retainer for a spring inside the shifting/steering column. it pushes against the shift handle and you have to push it back down in order to be able to shift gears.

its for a 1966 ford F100 with an automatic transmission and the part number is C0DF-7A347-A. the name of it is "Retainer, Transmission Gear Shift Selector Lever Plunger" (that's what a ford parts website said)

i found ONLY ONE ON THE ENTIRE INTERNET, BEING SOLD ON EBAY FROM SOME DUDE IN AUSTRALIA. if this guy wont ship it to me im fucked. i can't move my truck without this one tiny fucking piece of shit. i cant find the part on rock auto, lmc truck, summit racing, it does not fucking exist anymore as far as i know. i do not know what the fuck to do.

is there something similar i could use as a substitute? would anyone here know where i can find one? please i am willing to pay way more than it's worth just so i can move my truck.

Could get a machine shop to make it for you
Or maybe you buy a small lathe and learn to do it yourself

Worst case scenario you can buy the steering column. No price listed.

You got measurements? Anyone with a lathe should be able to turn one out in short order... I actually have a 65 or 66 ford 3/4 ton that was converted to a floor shifter. Might still have the column shift on it though, i'd have to check...

nvm the ebay guy agreed to let me buy it, all good now thanks for the help though

What is it going to cost you for the part and shipping?

Since it's a simple little metal doodad, get accurate measurements from it so you or anyone else in your position can just have a machine shop turn one on a lathe at will.

This.

Shit like this makes me glad I have my own machine tools and know how to operate them.

It looks extremely easy to just make. Got a bro with a garage lathe? Take some measurements of the spot where it goes with calipers and have at it.

That 9x20 Jet is my smallest lathe Have a 10" x 36" Atlas and 12"x 36" craftsman and a 16"x 60" south bend and a couple others I got for free that I haven't even begun to work on. Also have a few mills too. I can't imagine not having the capabilities to machine parts when I need them. It has saved my ass so many times! Between welding and fabrication and machining, there's not many parts I can't duplicate or at least find a work around for.

Pic rel is a couple of my basement garage mills.
