Let's settle this once and for all fags, unibody or body on frame?
>>
>>28208922
Depends on the application.

Trucks body on frame
Regular cars unibody

Also OP is fag
>>
fullsize cars and maybe like 1/3rd of midsize should be bof,
all compacts and most midsize should be unibody
zero trucks should be unibody unless it's like an old xj suv where it's basically just an overbuilt unibody, makes no fucking sense on a pickup.
>>
>>28208938
Some Tacomas and Ridgelines are unibody.
>>
>>28208938
1961 Ford F100s were unibody. The only year they did it.
>>
>>28208956
"some" ridgelines lmao
>>
>>28208922
Depends on usecase. Cars are fine as unibody. Trucks and suvs should be body on frame and generally are. Only some odd rigs violate that like the ranchero and el camino.
>>28208956
All ridgelines are unibody. Unless the newest tacoma is, they have been body on frame since they were renamed.

History lesson anon: The Jeep Comanche was both. Bed on frame rear, unibody frame to cab front. It was actually a great truck from 91-92 with the straight six once Chrysler dumped the Renix EFI for the Chrysler MPI, "High Output"

Stupid Chrysler killed it far too soon.

Unibody's gonna absorb more of a hit and distribute it away from passengers. It's also junk, at that point.

It was multiple years and they were sold alongside standard F100's (fleet sides only for example, if you ordered a stepside you got a normal cab).
And it was a one piece cab/bed that was still on a standard ladder frame so not an actual unibody as the term is accepted today.
I had a "64 unibody F100.

frame on unibody

BOF because I live in the rust belt. With a BOF vehicle you only have to worry about the body mounts rusting away. If you go unibody and you develop cancer near any of the suspension mounts and such the car is scrap metal.
