>mom no longer trusts her Audi a4 now that it's no longer under warranty>thinks every clink and clang might be the spark to the 5-figure time bomb>now wants a new car >budget is $40,000>no CVTs allowed>no hybrid/EV. Doesn't trust the tech>no shitty shitbox interior allowed since she compares every vehicle to her Audi>must be all wheel drive for Leaf winter suffering>no auto stop-start since she's scared it's gonna blow up the starterAfter a buttload of research the only vehicles that seems to fit all of these criteria are the cheaper Mazdas. She hates the Mazda3 but loves the the Cx30 and the Cx5. Is there anything I missed in my research? Would you consider the Cx5 to be worth the $4K upmark over the Cx30? Any reason to avoid Mazda all together?
>>28209006cx30 is basically mazda 3 with raised suspension. If she's mostly a solo driver it'd do the job. I can't really think of any reason to avoid mazdas for your criteria except for few models where they made the ride and steering really stiff for "muh driving dynamic" like the cx-50.
>>28209006>Any reason to avoid Mazda all together?Yeah, Subaru is better.
>>28209068Please take this seriously.
>>28209006you'll be fine with Mazda. What model you want is more about size
>>28209006Your mom sounds retarded
>>28209006Your mum is a fuckwit who wants crossover crap so i suggest she kill herself
>>28209015>>28209079Thanks. I figured she'd be fine with any of them since they seem to all use the same drive train.Only real systemic issues I could find for that was the carbon build up from the fuel injectors if you take short trips in the cold (which will be most of her driving) but that seems to be non-issue if you know about it.>>28209068I had her test a couple Subaru but it was a complete non-starter. She got into a Crosstrek and the first thing she said was "this is worse than my old Malibu"—and that was before she saw that it had a CVT and a tablet screen center display that looked like a blown up DSLR camera UI.>>28209087>>28209107Will forward these concerns.
>>28209285just have her blast down the highway for 30 minutes once a week to keep the engine clean inside
>>28209006If you value your mother, then get a Model 3. 1) She will never have to visit gas station by driving 5-10 mins and then fueling for another 3-4 mins.2) She'll never have to worry about getting robbed, raped, murdered by homeless/drunks/rapists/murders at the gas stations3) She'll always have a car that is fully charged at home4) She'll never have to do any maintenance on the car, except for filter changes and some wiper fluids5) Car will have driver assists that will save her life6) Any issues with car will be fixed by Tesla under warranty7) Tesla technicians will come to your garage to fix the car8) She'll never have to worry about car getting stolen, damaged, etc. 9) She can control the car from her phone
Cx5 is noticeably more roomy on the inside, but not sure if that’s important to her needs. They’re a good commuter appliance and the interior is a nice place to spend time.Buy with confidence
>>28209006Mazda cx's have stop-start
You don't need to tell us it's for your mom. We know you're just shopping for yourself.
>>28209006> >mom no longer trusts her Audi a4 now that it's no longer under warranty>thinks every clink and clang might be the spark to the 5-figure time bombBeat the shit out of her and tell her that car is fine and she should stop being a wrenchlet. It’s the only way women learn.
>>28209006>panic about potential 4 figure repair>comfort at the thought of paying 5 figures over 5 years I'll never understand boomer logic.
>>28209354>whoops, Puneep left a semi colon out of the code this week, your car is now a brick until there's a patch.>oh shit, it's extra cold today; your range is now 48 miles>randomly combusts and burns your house down
