Why are they trying to replicate the noises of a cammed v8 engine?
The snap crackle pops from a cammed v8 come from letting off the throttle and fuel igniting inside the exhaust why are normies trying to replicate this sound as a performance thing?
I keep seeing little buzz boxes with snap crackle pop tunes and nothing satisfies me more than doing a real snap crackle pop with my cammed ls1 while i pass them.

since the dawn of time lesser creatures have tried to emulate the appearance and behavior of more desirable creatures in an attempt to increase their ability to create viable offspring. if your iq was as high as mine you would have known this already and would not have had to make this thread but unfortunately here we are.

The entire modern car industry, since the invention of the winged bidy line in the 50s, has been trying to make car appear faster than they really are.

Burble tunes will be a factory option in short order.

Idk, Golf GTI do it the most though. I guess they try to compensate for not getting the R?

Its more meant to mimic the aggressive anti lag and hyuge turbos on smaller engines found in rally imo.
But high performance engines in general are prone to pops and bangs, it's just retards found a way to mimic it by dumping fuel and cutting or greatly delaying spark on off throttle.
At least spark delay is a form of anti lag and has some actual performance benefits even if it's the worse version of anti lag.

It's called Sport Mode on every car made in the last decade +.

It started with the MK4.

This. It's always some poorfag in a "hot hatch" like a GTI trying to exhibit some personality but ending up like a stereotype. It'd be cool if they went for WRC homages

Most carbonated cars would pop under deceleration. This was due to the idle circuit still feeding the motor fuel. Modern cars with fuel injection cut fuel on deceleration. However you can install a tune that still fuels and you'll get the pop. Performance cams and other factors likes this may also induce some pop but it's not quite the same.
As for why, attention most likely. It makes the car sound like it been modified quite a bit when it's just a tune to keep the idle spray going even during deceleration.

Yes, low IQ bakas do it for women. I, an enlightened man, do it to be an utter nuisance because it is my God given right to make as much noise as I want.

They have been for well over a decade now. BMWs have different modes where some will give you more aggressive burbles
https://youtu.be/hDRuZphxJWQ
10+ year old MINI Cooper S models also adapt to a much more aggressive mapping with pronounced "pops and bangs", but only when you hit the "Sport" button.
https://youtu.be/wyAi3sZLEZE
Even the brand new Cadillac Escalade V can go from silent, stock sounding to extremely loud and with very exaggerated pops and bangs, once again stock.

PLENTY of other new cars have these features now, but these few examples literally use different ECU maps depending on your mode, rather than something such as an Abarth 500 that'll give you burbles by default. I find most aftermarket "pop and bang" tunes that give you endless gunshots on deceleration to be horrible, but it's also telling that this type of intentional factory rice is becoming mainstream.
>I do like some "natural" burbles to a slight degree thoughbeit

It's only a four cylinder but it's almost like a five cylinder!
