I hate what I call "rear-view mirror drivers". these are drivers that don't ever check their speedometer. they are driving 5 under the speed limit, so naturally you come up behind them. they start looking at your car in their rear-view mirror. you can tell because they are slowing down even more. you slow down to match their speed, then they slow down another 5mph; you signal to change lanes. and instead of just keeping at their own speed, they rely on the visual que of cars around them instead of checking their speedometer to determine how fast they are supposed to be going. then they magically speed up with you when you are trying to get around them. they then block you from passing and you are now behind another car in front of you and the jackass to the right of you. if you want to drive slowly. do it. but nothing irks me more than rear view mirror drivers. they act like they got nowhere else to be except to blow you from wherever the hell you are going.long story short, get a car with an enough HP to pass these undisciplined drivers. I am making it sound a lot worse than it really is. but sometimes it's just plain annoying. we wouldn't have this issue if you were just carrying on the way you wanted.

When you're off the throttle and slowing down in gear, the computer can reduce or even stop injecting fuel entirely while the inertia of the spinning wheels and drivetrain keeps the engine turning, using little to no fuel at all. If you're coasting in neutral and have the engine idling, it has to use fuel to keep the engine turning that isn't even being used to propel the vehicle at all. That's not even getting into it being somewhat more dangerous to not be in gear for longer than you have to in case you need to accelerate away from something too.
