>>28212356Why would I want a tire company to rate restaurants?
>>28212356Why not? It's all harmonics.
>>28212372Why the fuck is the engine sideways?
>>28212356Reasons
>>28212365Because they make the best tires, so you know they at least know a thing or two about SOMETHING. I'd trust someone who makes the best tires to tell me where good food is too, until they recommend some garbage place, in which case all trust is lost. Luckily, Michelin stars are very difficult to get and keep.
>>28212383>exhaust == tires!!!
>>28212365the idea was that you would drive more often and as a result need to buy tires more often.
>>28212356the actual reason is acoustic is more important than ever for EVs because there's no engine noise to mask the tire's lazy design. And EVs replace their tires more often than ice cars in equal class.

No one will read this, but Sumitomo already owned I don't know, 40 or 60% of the Dunlop tire business, it's fucking retarded. Basically until now:>Japanese brand cars: Sumitomo>European and American brand cars: Goodyear>Japanese aftermarket: Sumitomo>European and American aftermarket: Goodyear>Japanese and American motorcycle market: Sumitomo>European motorcycle market: GoodyearThis unites the whole thing under one company more or less, so you only need to deal with every other industry with Dunlop branding being an entirely different company. In recent years Goodyear has moved the branding of much of their racing tires from Dunlop to Goodyear, and Sumitomo shutting down its motorcycle tire plant in America was presumably made in part in preparation for this purchase.
