How the fuck do people afford new cars? With the exception of fuckyou rich countries like the US, or China, where manufacturers still make affordable good cars, it's insane how expensive they are. I make about 2500 euro after taxes (which is kinda average for a lot of West Euros), but even a poverty spec new Golf costs 30k, which is a yearly salary if I don't spend a dime on anything, so realistically 2 years. Fuck you I'm not paying that much for a shitbox. And thats the bottom of the palette, you can easily pay twice as much if you want something decent.
VW is marketed and priced as a premium brand these days. You either need to go lower in the VAG totem to SEAT or Skoda for a true entry level car now.
>>28213382>I make about 2500 euro after taxes (which is kinda average for a lot of West Euros)it's your social contract, Hans. You voted for this. What you lose in income through taxes you gain in life quality in beautiful prosperous Europe. With all the taxes you pay, you get free healthcare, and uh, free healthcare for abdul, and free housing for abdul, and free food for abdul, and all of that for also abdul's cousinsjust buy a base level suzuki swift or something, settle for less, live smaller, pay boomers' pensions

buy an i30n performance like a smart person. drives so much nicer than the 8 GTI CS
>>28213386>VW is marketed and priced as a premium brand these days.It has been since the Corrado, my 2000 Jetta GLX vr6/5sp was $27000 when I bought it new, while the poverty spec autos were like $22000. My MkIII 2.0L GL was $20,000 in 1995 and it had crank windows.
>>28213386>SEATmehh, that's the "sporty" brand now so those are also marked up. Skoda is your only bet. Or just ditch VAGshit and look for a proper car instead
>>28213382People resort to (((financing)))
>>28213382You're being taxed to provide "free" healthcare to mohammed and his 6 child brides.
>>28213410in eu the golf 85 kW 1498 ccm costs almost 30kthe gti is like 50k
>>28213524Except Europe's not like America where you can get a new car from the dealership with 0% APR with nothing but a firm handshake.
A lot of new cars are leased
>>28213524Nah, in yurop it's all about that private lease
>>28213382> I make about 2500 euro after taxes (which is kinda average for a lot of West EurosKWAB
>>28213382A lot of them can't. They sacrifice savings and investments for a car.
>>28213404Well today is different. But before the coof, it was a better economic decision to get an auto loan if you could get an interest rate under 5%
>>28213542that’s why you buy a brand new i30n performance for 30k
>>28213382It's not just cars itself, maintenance prices are also crazy lately.idk, I'm probably just poor, EU prosperity bypassed me.
>>28213382through companiesthey buy a car without vat and can put their vehicle depreciation for taxesyour 30k golf, actually costs 24k and you can put those to lower company tax burden. Voila, it now makes sense to buy a car. Get it?they can even resell it.
>>28213576this tooalso uber is huge for lower tier carspay a shitty rent, get your own car, uber it and then return it when you're over
>>28213742Another thing, manufacturers tend to do special prices for certain car models for small businesses, why you usually see a lot of the same car models on the road, because they have that discount. add the reduced vat and the depreciation , it actually makes sense for small business owners to buy cars, and regularly. What do you prefer, have a 5k profit in your business or put it down as vehicle depreciation and have little profit and pay no taxes?why they don't promote this a lot is so that we don't have n-words just making companies to buy cars. but its big enough so that there's enough demand/incentive for people to keep subsidizing the car industry which is very needed in EU economy.
>>28213609Let me guess, you are 7 feet tall, can bench press a truck and make a million dollars a year just like everyone on the internet
outside US you really shouldn't be driving a new personal car unless you're self-employed/businessman or saved for it for yearsit's always been like this and it will always be like this
>>28213774The typical lie here about salary is 6 figures not 7
>>28213404It could just be one guy with a few million...
I bought a car for 400 euro and drove it for 5 years
>>28213382things would've been different if you guys actually worked rather than always unionizing and sitting on your asses doing nothing
>>28215125Six figures isn't the improbable brag that it used to be unfortunately.
>>28215325It’s still a pretty big salary to pine for nowadays especially with the tech sector getting jeeted. I still consider 80k an impressive salary depending on cost of living
>>28213382>How the fuck do people afford new cars? They don't.Most people are debt golems who spend more than they can afford. These are the stupid fucks who, later in life, will be begging congress to fund their retirement because they didn't save and invest they should have because all their money was going into car payments. The non-plebs use one weird trick:they drive an old, paid off car and then save $500-$800 per month for a few years, then buy the car outright with no debt. The true patricians (business owners) just lease their vehicles and use tax accounting trickery to skirt the whole issue.
>>28213524>(((financing)))yeah the cabal scammed me real nice when I locked in my 1% rate in 2020it's okay to be poor it's not okay to be retarded
>>28215313>tech firmsHow much of that "growth" ever touches the lives of people outside an increasingly exclusive group?
