It's the retarded designers
what really pisses me off is this is the most emissions cucked car and STILL we dont get it in ausfuckhole
i actually think its a little bit of everyonethe engineers didnt give the 400z good enough brakes and fucking stupid suspension tuning so its not fast as the competitors despite being fast on paperthe product planners made the nismo automatic only and the same price as a bmw m2 (but you're not getting bmw experience/dealer network)regulations made it not sharp enough and are the reason why its harder to make a car meet emissions/fuel economy targets with manual transmisisons (autos = extra gears, less farts, keeps revs low)and finally the dealers refuse to sell the fucking things while marking them up
>>28213963I'm just bored and I'm posting nu cars I think look good, it was nothing directed at the 400z
>>28213951Its both. Is high belt lines and chunky pillars for rollover/side impact protection, mushy front facades for pedestrian impact safety etc etc. But its also a lack of creativity I think, because of CAD design and the ability to do effectively anything, so designers just spam random creases and predator grilles everywhere because they can. Back in the day they had to be more discerning about where to put embellishments because it was a lot more work and sometimes just not technologically possible to do certain things. So you had more sober, measured designs, which were hampered by regulations to a lesser extent.
>>28213968Miata is loveMiata is life
>>28213980The regulations definitely fuck with the designs a lot, but I think a lot of the cars out right now and a lot of the cars coming out in 2025 are proof that they can still make something really nice looking, they were all just too caught up on shitty trends
>>28213951It’s the jews anon. How many times do we have to say this.
>>28213957Wasn't it canned in Oceania because of side impact safety standards, not emissions?
>>28214053Correct. ADR 85 'Pole impact design rules' killed it dead.
>>28213951Both things can be trueLegalise popups
>>28213983MX5 is the only answer
>>28213951You'd think a couple hundred bucks of chrome wouldn't be a deal breaker, but come on man...One on either side in the center of the door, one that surrounds the intake up front, and one that surrounds the tail lights as one.
>>28213980I'm convinced aerodynamics are part of the reason for the lack of creativity. Emissions, fleet MPG standards and wind tunnel testing have led to every single car down to economy cars needing to have a lower coefficient of drag than 30 year old supercars. Once everything looks like some sort of fastback jellybean or a high-riding egg shaped CUV, the only way you can differentiate looks is by spamming ever-edgier shaped LED running lights all over, along with fake vents. As of "current" trends it's even worse, now it's just jellybeans with a full strip LED running light in both the front and back (Mercury Sable was ahead of it's time) and ricer tier bullshit like light-up emblems, honestly needed at this point because without an emblem shining in your face you can barely tell what you're looking at anymore especially at night.
>>28214161the fuck? yet they'll let in tesla and byd death traps absolute joke! Guess Nissassan couldnt avoid the bribey bribes tax now their broke so they canned it for the entire region
most of the cars you posted seem alright to me. they abide by safety and aerodynamics/efficiency regulations as well as they can while still having a unique design
