Low redline, open diffs and tiny brakes if you don't get a $45k tS or TR

Get a base model, retune + exhaust, aftermarket diffs meant for the VA WRX fit, and if you get TR spindles you can fit the VA STi 6 pistons and rotors without modifications.
>>
No wing. Gay. Looks like a camry with a hood scoop. Just looks wrong. That boy ain't right
>>
>>28216328
>Under the WRX's hood is a turbocharged 2.4-liter flat-four-cylinder engine. Its 271 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque route

Try again nocar faggot.
>>
>>28216328
But none of that is true, you literally cannot find another car like it without paying $20k more for a Golf R/GR Corolla or $60k for a M340xi.

The new one gets mid-high 20s MPG and holds 600whp on a stock bottom end with ARP headstuds.
>>
>>28216333
271, oof. That's less than v6 muscle cars from 10 years ago

The average vehicle has 400+hp. It's not unreasonable for an almost 4000lb "sports car" to have at least that much.

Apparently everybody drives race cars.

the death of the evo meant subaru didnt have to try anymore. now theyre bringing back a limited 500 unit TSI release that only comes in a CVT. it's actually over
>>
>>28216361
Yeah but that sucked even compared to the 2008 WRX which was one of the shittiest ones in Subaru history.

It was a one trick pony which is why you don't see them on the roads anymore (seriously, when's the last time you saw a Caliber? All the late 00s FWD Dodges disappeared off the road even Darts are rare)

Imagine if they never stopped making a car from 2005 in the best and worst way possible.

>>28216328

>4000lbs
3300-3500lbs depending on trim an options

>Subaru reliability
All of these are accurate

>>28216338
It also weighs up to 400lbs less than said V6 pony car.

>>28216366
>What are the top 3 best selling vehicles in North America/the world? They all have standard engines with over 400hp.
400hp in a truck is nothing like 400hp in a car. And those engines aren't standard. The HO Hurricane, Ecoboost / 5.0 and L87 6.2 are all options.

Discussion on normal cars that any one of you could buy but won't and instead complain about confuse me. Just go to the fucking dealer and test drive one.
>>
>>28216347
The average American is buying $50-70,000 pickups with 450hp V8s at 7.25% APR? No wonder everyone in this country is poor. Anyways #3 is the Rav4.

>>28216368
Subaru too busy extracting money from rich Japanese GenXers who would pay BMW money for a Subaru.

It makes more sense when you find out the CVT WRX is insanely successful in Japan and they've had automatic STis since 2007 (GR A-Line) until the death of the car.
>>
>>28216376
The VB is ugly to me but I still like the WRX formula.

transmission is kinda weak relative to the tuning potential of the engine
most trims have lame brakes
the shifter is like sifting through gravel
>>
>>28216425
How is it that Subaru have only managed to make one good transmission ever?
>>
Golf 8.5 R + remap you idiot.
>>
>>28216440
strong trans = heavy gears = bad gas mileage
if they put the STi trans in the VB it would get like 19mpg instead of 24, it's just not a viable product in [current year]
>>
>>28216312
>low mpg
>plastic everything
>turbocharged boxer engine just begging to blow up
>CVT that doesn't have to beg, it just blows up
>or tranual that makes you spill your beer while driving
>no hatchback option so you have to drive a girl car
>>
>>28216451

subaru is also printing money making crosstreks foresters and outbacks

like waiting lists and markups on crosstreks and outbacks

they do not need to make the wrx, they can discontinue it and no one would notice. the production space + showroom space would go towards making more more $40,000 outbacks that boomers and genxers are fighting each other to buy and sell before they even hit the lot
>>
>>28216451
I hadn't thought of that, boxers have such garbage mpg to begin with I suppose it is extra hard to justify.
>>
>>28216528
its also mechanical 4wd that's on at all times so they have lots of parasitic drag

golf r and gr corolla get better mpg because they're fwd until they detect wheelspin then the electromagnetic clutches engage in the rear diff. its a big reason why haldex was developed (better mpg for awd crossovers/small cars)

the boxer issue is a factor but even the older FA wrxs got mid-high 20s mpg vs the EJ WRXs getting at best low 20s...direct injection was a game changer.
>>
The giulia 4wd is the sti we deserve.
>>
>>28216312
It's a sedan that has awd but gets poor fuel economy. If that's what you're looking for, sure, it's a fine car.
It's just not sporty. Not at all. If you think this is a sports car you are delusional.

What's the issue, no lies found. They're happy all day long at under 500whp. They make 250-260whp bone stock so 2x that is pretty damn good. They'll add another 50whp from a tune alone and 100whp from tune and exhaust/tmic.

Just acknowledge you're wrong and move on. Pic related is from 5 years ago.

Word. Probably not sti but way better than the WRX. More power, looks better, not much more expensive because no one buys alfas so massive discounts.
>>
>>28216819
enough power to have fun! get a squadra tune to fine tune this beautiful beast and it’s perfect.
I mean, what other car in 2025 offers double wishies in the front and multi link in the rear for that amount of money?
you are getting the full blown quadrifoglio chassis. amazing.
>>
>>28216830
Wish stellantis wasn't shit and offered an AWD qv. I'd upgrade but I have a 911 and don't need 2 rwd cars in the winter. Probably my last Alfa since stellantis is just going to use their shitty platform instead of Giorgio.
>>
>>28216819
You forgot to mention that is one of the most unreliable cars out there to the point you can get them for pennies.

And no there is nothing you can say that will change that fact.

Oil starving boxer engine. Otherwise good piece
>>
>>28216872
yep. these were all over my area for maybe six months and then they just vanished. haven't seen one for over a year now.
>>
>>28216968
Probably cause the leases ran out. FCA was desperate at one point and had dirt cheap leases before giving up.

>>28216886
These actually don't starve at all. They have a scavenge pump for the oil drain that forces oil from the passenger head back into the oil pan. FA20 WRXs have the same thing.

I actually don't know why Subaru didn't do the same thing for the BRZs.

>>28216819
Unironically on the short list for me. I really like them. Not sure if I'd do a 2-3 year old Giulia Q2 with extended warranty or a new base WRX as a only car. Supposedly if you buy it from a Stellantis dealer it's eligible for the Mopar warranty and service pack.

if you want an auto it's a much better choice than a CVT WRX though
>>
>>28216312
One of the defining cars of the USGPMT+ movement; simply terrible.
>>
>>28216312
Unlike the nocar retards who keep posting in this thread and can barely afford a 25 year old beater with 300k miles, the WRX post 2022 is actually a good car.

Back in the day when Subaru jumped into the new engine they fucked up the oiling and it had horrible heating issues, plus leaking like a motherfucker because they used paste instead of a proper gasket. The post 2022 cars have fixed all those issues and now the old premium is the base model.

If I have to mention things that arent that great that would be the brakes and the gasket for 2 reasons, 1) Subaru gave this car an engine that can easily be tuned for nice 350 WHP with no modificiations, be aware of the tranny because it doesn't like going higher than that, 2) If you don't beat the shit out of the car and you're a responsible owner, this car will easily go over 200k miles (there are WRX already over that) but you might need to replace the turbo and that's expensive, unless you wanna build the engine because it can go all the way up to 600-700 HP.

In short, if you get a 2024 then you're good, stop listening to retards who keep regurgitating the same shit because the first cars had problems.
>>
