yo im seeing these being sold here for like 12,000 for low mileage. Are they worth it? They have them in both 3.5L ECOBOOST and 3.7L.
>>28217419I was thinking about a nu-SHO as a winter car but haven't gotten around to test driving one yet. Mechanics seem to hate the twin turbo V6 ecoboost though.
There's a reason why they're so cheap.
>>28217419Never fucking ever spend 5 figures on a ex-police vehicle. These are not like a Crown Vic where you could buy them in their ex-police state and drive them for another 10 years. Modern police vehicles like this hit the auction block because they're not economical to keep on the road. Also a FWD TT V6 AWD car is going to be an absolute fuck in the ass to work on.
Look up the waterpump replacement procedure and know pain.
>>28217468please tell im really thinking of getting one, they had one there with 700 idle engine hours
>>28217477which engine would you recommend from the both if you had to pick one? 3.5 ecoboost or the 3.7 cyclone engine. thats a mustang engine no? they have a 3.7L that im currently looking at.
>>28217483Definitely the 3.7. The 3.5 is an absolute fuck to work on in a F-150. I can only imagine what it's like to work on in one of these.
>>28217464>winter carthats kind of my reason of maybe buying one. its cheap awd drive which something similar would easily cost me 16k or more. i might be able to get it with warranty for less.
>>28217490thanks i will skip the 3.5l although i will be losing horse power
that car glows though
I drove an MKS with the 3.7 for about five yearsThe size, weight and loose steering will ruin any potential fun you'll have
>>28217713its a heavy car thats for sure over 3700 lbs or close to 4000 lbs. It takes off quick though I test drove it but have not pulled the trigger. I test drove the 3.7L and it was not that bad taking off 0-60, definitely beats anything in its price range. 3.5L is like a 5 second car, but Its one of those cars where you enjoy it while it lasts, thats why the 3.7l is so much better. You lose 60 horse power but have better reliability. Also heater inside is crazy good, it can get toasty inside in 0 degree weather. only thing you have to worry about is the water pump. which is like $1500-$2500 repair.
>>28217719Yeah I do remember the heater being good. The moonroof, radar cruise and interior is what I liked most. THX sound system was crazy. Pretty loaded up for 2009, it had everything except the auto park bullshit. Just not a very fun car though. The only complements I would get were from white boomers brown guys which always made me lolI had a 2008 MKZ with the 3.5 before it which was a lot more fun
>>28217464>Mechanics seem to hate the twin turbo V6 ecoboost though.Bscause the timing sets alone are nightmare fuel with a water pump added.
>>28217483The water pump is not behind the timing cover on the longitudinal 3.5 or 3.7
