I am also looking at old shit cars,
for example I bought a 77 corolla liftback for 4k, I dropped 1k in parts and 3k in a new painjob inside and outside, about 500 in smaller repairs like seats and whatnot.
I have a 48 year old car that cost me 10k in total and it's going to run like a motherfucker for another 50 years with maintainance being only oil, filters, plugs and tires.
I do about 10k km every years with it because it's my main car.
what are you going to do with this car? Are you planning to pretend to be fast with that car? Are you planning on having it as your main car?
Are you planning on keeping it on the road for 10 - 20 years?
You might be in for maintainance such as turbos, chains, tensioners, torsen awd system, etc.
I've bitten the bullet with my car because I don't plan on selling it and it costs me almost zero to keep it sitting in my garage, but I also know that even something huge fucks up the engine, a used one is about $450.

The real deal breaker is all the mods done to it.
It's not even the original engine in there, so god knows what kind of nigrigs have been done to it.
