Without seeing its pretty hard to tell, but it could have been a bad patch of gravel/oil, maybe you hit the brakes too much, or even more probable than all is that your movement was too sudden, everything on a bike should be smooth. If you counter steer too hard too quickly (trying to lean it over really quick) you'll upset the bike and slide out, because you had your clutch in, that would be my best guess ignoring road conditions.
