I wish I bought the 500. There are 4 rebel frens in these generals. Everything is easy to work on until you need to touch the airbox. The airbox needs the entire rear to be off to pull out. Lucky you can change the filter very carefully from the side.
Honestly the best first mods should be sliders/bars and a better seat. The seat absolutely blows and even chinese and thai seats are better.

Do you have any recommendations for seats? I agree that the seat is terrible lol. Slider bars would be a good idea as well. I have to do the break in service (600mi) soon but I'm just gonna take it to the place I bought it from. It's my first "new" bike so I wanted to get something small and easy to maintain. Its way faster than the '86 nighthawk I learned on. I'm 6'2" so I look a little goofy on it but I'm ok with that lol.

Both I and the other anon use the same seat that has been rebranded. Cheapest decent seats are to use a seath from a royal Enfield hunter but honestly ones made for the bike are plentiful for sub 200 USD on ebay and amazon, absolutely everything has more pad than OEM. Thickest there is is the noi/vastmt 2 up which gives a bit over 2" more height. Reminder the cmx1100 seats and parts don't fit the 300 and 500 but the 300 and 500 use almost all the same parts for better or worse outside engine components. Suspension because of tariffs you have three official options period being yss, ohlin, burly, and gears racing. Unofficially you can use sr250,400,500 and triumph Bonneville aftermarket shocks work with 14mm eye brearings and 2mm spacers.
There is less engine work you can do on the 500 but it also kinda doesn't need it.
>>
Anyways fucking jbs now has a shipping cost and tariff markup making it more expensive than yss shocks for my project with the rebel so I have to hold off again.

Still here, I was postan a bit last thread too. Got a better AI GENERATOR so the quality is superior, still need to adjust settings on it thoughever, this is just whatever the base is and then reshat out on a lowly medium quality through my trashware AI EDITING SOFTWARE so that it doesn't take 6 years to compute (plus fits in catbox).

Down, although in the empty lanes ur gonna have to be bored with me cus this lil guy is only made for splitting, curves, and hooligan activities. Should I just get another motorcycle if I don't have a car. I'm 18 and wanted a car to pick girls up easier than my DR200 but eh I'm likely going to stay a virgin either way. I'm saving up $6k and will spend this money on either a used car or a motorcycle. >>
>>28637472
yes, and then nobody brings their expensive cars
and they lose all the "toll" money
so other less-nice car drivers dont come
and they lose more money
then the car watchers/spotters dont come
so they lose more money
and the local cafes dont get customers
so they lose more money
then the repairs get worse each year
so less people come
spiral spiral spiral etc.

they have to babby every hypercar faggot because without them its just another boring road that nobody would visit, and somewhere else would take its place as being the go-to fun track

If you live in NYC or another big city then I know for a fact you can easily get by with just a motorcycle, I did it myself. All the major metro areas are very good at plowing. Even Buffalo which gets snowed on like a Colombian bachelor party plows and salts very quickly, it always shocked me when I rode up to visit my brother in college
My sincere, no meme opinion is that if too dangerous to ride a motorcycle, it’s too dangerous to drive a car.

You will never be a real woman. You have no womb, you have no ovaries, you have no eggs. You are a homosexual man twisted by drugs and surgery into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.

All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors.

Men are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed men to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even trannies who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a man. Your bone structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk guy home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected axe wound.

You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.

Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a man is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably male.

This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Relative to a bike built around riding at high speed on a fixed, smooth surface? Fuck yeah they are. And they're also kind of shit relative to dedicated MX bikes with service intervals measured in hours. You want a compromise bike? You have to make compromises.

Don't worry though. China and India are trying their best to make sure you have to buy a new $5k bike instead every 5-10 yeats because the last one wore out.

The wheels aren't even round from the factory, this piece of shit will rattle your teeth off when riding.
The suspension is there, but it ain't absorbing anything off the road.
The whole drivetrain vibrates like a concrete mixer in general.

Touring ehhh, some have done it, but the riding position is kinda whatever and ergonomics are non existent, I keep hitting my shins on the carbs constantly for example, there's no good position for your feet on the pegs, the seats tend to waft about like it wasn't bolted in at all and so on.
Touring also might be questionable, at least with the 650, due to the unreliability of basically everything on the bike.
The crankshafts are mechanical the weakest link, followed by the final drive.
Objectively speaking it's a terrible fucking bike and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone except someone as retarded as me. If you really want a vintage Ural, get a sidevalve KMZ, those are fairly stout machines and albeit being even slower than an IMZ, they don't have crankshaft issues.
If you just want an Ural, the new OHV 750cc ones are fairly reliable, extremely so when compared to any of the earlier models.

That being said I wouldn't trade my Ural for any other bike.
>>
>>28638490
I can't buy Urals in my country, the closest for me is RE, I've ridden few of the ones, they vibrate like crazy, like holding on to a hand drill, drilling into concrete when it goes above 80kph. But that bike was comfy and I'd be able to do long distances on it, given I kept it under certain speed. It was not nearly as quirky as your ural, I love your love of this quirky bike.
>>
>>28638490
But how are your hands taking that?
>>
Just bought this beat up TW200 for $1200 and I love the thing bros it's not the fastest bike but I can finally get wherever I want as long as I don't take 65mph+ highways I don't have to take the bus anymore. I can even ride through the woods over logs if I ever get into a police chase I cant outrun through normal means
>>
>>28638503
Where are the pictures? Did you get new fluids, tyres and other things?
>>
>>28638501
How come? The new ones are "made in Kazakhstan" and should be Euro 4 and Euro 5 compliant, they're just REALLY expensive, like we're talking up to 50 grand expensive.
>>28638502
Actually now that you mention it, I haven't even noticed my hands getting sore or anything unlike they do on the Gucci after a while.
It's more like the bike will shake your whole body apart, feeling like a brick in a tumble dryer, not some irritating minor vibration that will numb you out eventually.

The Izh for example at certain RPM will resonate through the pegs quite hard in this really annoying high frequency vibration that will numb out your feet really fast.

>>
>>28638553
9:1 is extremely low by modern standards.
the oil weight matters more for bearing clearances and for oil actuated cam timing systems. probably better to just run what it says to run. synthetic blend is fine? and rotella t4 is cheap af. rotella t6 is also full synthetic and 15-40.
>>
>>28638553
Anon, I'm a retard, there are people who can answer this better. Your chink bike is low compression, so low stress. High compression bikes like S1K take a beating, so they need more frequent oil changes. Compression ratio is not the only thing that matters, oil volume matters too, if it takes lot of oil, it can go longer between services, but just follow the one specified in owner's manual.

what extra security measures do you have for your bike? have you installed some kind of 3rd party alarm, wheel lock, handlebars lock, vibration alarm, security cameras in your garage, etc?
>>
>>28638780
Haha gottem. He is married though, so he won.
>>
>>28638783
I live in a safe neighborhood. I use side lock and I cover one of the bikes with tarpaulin.
>>
>>28638783
Caliper lock that's stainless steel don't buy a temu special because those are easy to drill out the lock.

If you got something fancy then a cover helps but there are no easy measures to prevent 2 dudes and a pickup truck from tossing your shit in the bed and driving off.
>>
setting up a security camera because a family member is a literal nutcase and may want to trash my new motorbike i just got because he just hates motorbikes

i hate this family
>>
>>28638797
have you considered building and programming a robot that uses facial recognition to determine if he's coming too close to the bike, and just pre-emptively rips his dick off?
>>
>>28638802
I have, but ive decided its out of my expertise (and my budget)
>>
>>28638783
Gps in both, alarmed disc locks, D-locks and a chain to link them together.

Thank for those of you who subbed to my channel, got me to 500 :)

If you can't take a 1200/1250/1300RS cross country and scrub off your tendies cornering (with the bags on) that's a skill issue. It's probably not so good on track but on public roads it's amazing.
>>
>>28638797
Don't tell them about the camera and make sure it's hidden.

If they destroy your shit, congrats. You can press charges and solve your problem if the evidence is undeniable.

Absolutely not that china tool no no no. I bought that to save my money and the tool deformed more than the chain. Not worth their weight in scrap.
The cheapest chain tool that works in my experience is from AFAM. It's cheap because there's not much going on. Be careful you don't peen the link over wonky. I've used it on 2 chains so far

Gloves came in, hell yeah.

Alright, can confirm these to be comfy fitting and soft on the inside, thumbs are a bit too big tbqh and there is still slightly too much texture fabric instead of leather, but the leather is in the important bits and clearly waterproof gloves seem to be a begger's game, these are the best I found. Am very happy to see the inner liner is snitched in though, so none of that annoying bullshit where you pull out your clammy hand and the liner comes out, being half impossible to shove back in in less than 30 minutes.

I'll wear them and ride today to see how the control feel is, and next rainfall I'll report on how they hold up where they are suppose to.

>>28638927
I'm just directly south of you so we have roughly the same winters, I'm hoping we can get a few dry days one after the other.
I've got trainig 45 minutes away from home, the road is super nice for riding to and from but it's almost all gonna be at night and dusk. I'd really like to ride rather than drive cause I'd cut the time almost in half.
>>
>>28638932
This is a nice run but the way back up to Melton can be awkward to overtake and it extremely hazardous road, but rewarding to go fast.

I actively avoid it, don't really like overtaking if I can't see all the way down the road, dunno if my light is bad but I just can't see a fucking thing and if it's not a road I know well I don't enjoy it.

I like driving fast at night cause with the oncoming headlights I can see further/"around corners" where I wouldnt in daylight.
Also I think bike headlights just fucking suck overall. My FJ's really doesnt light much shit up and I came across cars with my brights on and didnt even get flashed at.
>>

>No licensing bullshit for e-bikes
For better or worse, it's coming. Too bad it's going to take some 13 year old flying over his handlebars as he collides with a mom and kills her (yes this has already happened with a bicycle going 30mph but those don't have electric motors) before it happens.

>>28638846
If you are a gas station attendent reading this, understand that I don't hate you personally, but I hate your employer, and virulently so. If you try this shit I'm going to leave my ear buds in and blast music so that you cease to exist to me.

>>
>>28638919
Thank you schizosister.
>>
>>28638990
I dunno about that one. The incident I'm referring to happened on a popular shared use trail near my city. A 20 year old woman abruptly did a left turn into the cycling lane, the cyclist coming up right behind her hit his front so hard he stoppied, went over his handlebars, and hit her in the head with his helmet, killing her instantly. It wasn't the cyclists fault, but it highlights that any 2 wheel vehicle with an engine capable of 30mph+ should probably be considered a motor vehicle for civil engineering purposes.

Low by motorbike standards? I thought any typical gasoline engine is in the range of 9-10. More than that and you'd have to use the higher octane gasoline.

It's like one litre.

Never heard. The selection of oils suitable for wet clutch is extremely random here.

Enjoy the freedom of e-bikes instead of wanting the regulations to make things "Fair" with motorbikes
