Got work on saturday, good excuse to ride. Ever since I turned 30 I kinda stopped speeding and lane splitting, is that normal?
>>
>>28695734

Yes. Risk to reward ratio starts being more meaningful because as you get older you have more to lose and the percieved rewards of risky become less appealing.

Going to work early one morning, as I take the corner to the on ramp for the bypass there is a black girl wearing all white standing in the middle of the road holding some cardboard.

Yeah I had a day where I lost my shit and I went full blitz. After the ride I just sat on my bike stared at the sky and said "I'm going end up dead if I don't calm down"

I still split (legal) but my delta has dropped down to like 15mph and I don't bother over 35 much anymore. I'm in much less of a rush these days.

So many fucking new-to-driving asians and jeets on the road now, I drop down to like 5mph if I come up to a toyota aqua, prius or other shit like nissan tiida's.

Ibex 450MT engines are exploding.
>This valve guide problem is not uncommon and is known to CFMOTO. The cylinder head part number has been changed which means the new ones have been changed. There are two symptoms that indicate this problem. As in this video, abnormal oil consumption. The second is the presence of oil in the air box (which happened to my customer) with a loss of power. The cylinder head and both pistons were replaced under warranty.

There was no fucking way that KTM, RE, and CFMoto were undercutting every other manufacter with labor savings alone when they dropped bikes at the $4-6k price point. Something has to give in the materials and QC. People lost their fucking minds when Suzuki priced the drz4s at $9k when they called it a $7k bike, but maybe it was most offsetting increased wages and material costs.

If it's anything like their ATV line, warranty will cover the first owner, but the user market is going to be rough.

i posted before about checking out a drz400 and a wr250r.
well i went and checked them both out, and now i'm kinda unsure what to pick.

i used to do single track and some motocross stuff when i was a kid. that's what i have experience with and i miss. i'd probably be better served with an actual dirt bike, but it's hard to beat the maintenance intervals of dualsports, plus the ability to connect trails on the road or just ride around town.
i don't actually have any experience at all street riding so i don't know how much of that i'd like. in my mind i'd like to imagine i'd do 90-10 offroad-street.

the wr250r is bone stock, and the drz has a full yoshi exhaust, fc39 carb and seatconcepts seat, plus a set of rally tires. but i'd probably still have to spend like 600$ or so if i wanted new wheels/tires for more hard offroad stuff.

the drz definitely feels more topheavy. i'm 5'10". it's doable, but i can definitely see how people say the wr feels more nimble. i rode both around a little bit but i haven't been on a bike in so long i didn't go crazy. both feel fine.

what do you think i should go with? i really don't know and i'm just taking other people's opinions on this. my concerns are that the drz would be too heavy for slower technical offroad stuff. people say the wr feels more like a dirtbike. but maybe i'd like street stuff, and the drz is definitely more set up for that, especially with the performance mods this guy put on it. the drz is for sure more powerful. the wr seems more technically demanding (but maybe more fun once you figure it out? more clutch control is required compared to just tractoring through on the DRZ). it's also a lighter bike with an aluminum frame and a lower center of gravity. so easier to manhandle on trails.

I fucking love riding, today was pretty epic.
It was a great day weather wise, so I took the bike to the gym. When I was about to leave, some old guy came up and asked for a soundcheck and asked me about the bike. Chatted with him for a bit, took the long (5 hours) way home.
Met a lot of bikers, all waved back. Stopped at local store for some food and to swap GoPro batteries, some guy asked about how fast the bike goes and chatted a bit about the driving habits about people here and how it was for him back home. Continued, Sunlight was absolutely magnificent color wise. Got waved through to pass three times, lot of people took their prides and joys for a ride, the boyracers are using every excuse to blast that they can get anyways, so it was a proper Forza Lobby feeling for what was possibly one of the best autumn days we will get here.

Thanks for reading the blog, there's no way for you to unsubscribe

>People lost their fucking minds when Suzuki priced the drz4s at $9k when they called it a $7k bike, but maybe it was most offsetting increased wages and material costs.
People called it a 7K bike because that's how much the DRZ-400 sold for, and was like that for over a decade.
Regardless, things have changed (for the worse) and manufacturing in general isn't what it used to be. I don't know how Suzuki or any of the big four can even have factories in Japan that use Japanese parts to make Japanese engines with the way things are going. Much less sell anything under 10K.

>>
>>28696418
> did the man on the telly tell you that "speed kills"?
are you implying it doesn't?
doesn't take a vert large brain to realize that the faster you go the longer it takes to slow down not to mention the typical excuses like gravel and potholes show up way quicker the faster you are going and then you can't do shit about it and then proceed to blame said things
>>
>>28696424
speed only determines the severity of an impact if there is an impact but if you can avoid the impact then speed is irrelevant

tldr: just don't crash bro
>>
>>28696424
>gravel and potholes show up way quicker the faster you are going
bikes are much more nimble than cars so bikes can steer around suck obstacles to avoid them

also, why is there gravel on the road? this doesn't happen in 1st world countries.

No its a real moped. I did have to weld up a new subframe after it got stolen then I proceeded to run over the thief in my truck. Which broke the original subframe's brazing in a couple of spots.

It's like a bell curve, at first it's fun and tedious, then it becomes a chore, but after a while, it is life. Some never learn to move past the feeling of riding like it's a chore. Others need to ride regardless of reason. When i commute, I commute, but on my way back, sometimes I have no other real plans for the night and that let's me wander without having to beat the laziness of wearing riding gear because it's already on and I'm already on my bike. Good rain and winter gear makes bad weather riding tolerable

is a good deal for a drz. like if i wanted a supermoto bike, there it is. the guy did all the stuff, and i don't think the price is nuts. so part of me is convinced i should just jump on the drz now. but in reality i could just wait and i imagine a better wr250r would come up. especially as we go into winter.

it'd be mad gay if i ended up getting the wr and it turns out i really like doing wheelies on the street, though.

am i deluding myself by thinking it's a good deal on the drz? should i just sit tight and wait for what i /think/ i really want?

Beaners in Mexico also had these issues with something on the engine making a noise that isn't normal, the biggest problem is usually that the ones selling the bikes have turbo-shit tier mechanics.
>>28695929
>>28696333
New DRZ sucked since Suzuki simply threw an LED light on it plus adding the stuff that is now mandatory (ABS, Eurocuck5+ emission, etc) and raised the price, they really fucked it up not giving it an actual TFT display with a better menu navigation, but more importantly, not having 6th gear these days on a dual sport is fucking criminal.
>>28695937
Jeet made KTMs usually cheap out on the bolts and other things, the engines are aluminum and in the older gen dukes, mostly gen 1, had valve clearance issues that lead to blown gaskets. Some say its with the "bigger Bajaj" engine, yet me personally I've seen more of the 200cc engine fail than the other. The engines are pretty much made the same, the 390 engine has better valves and a forged piston, but the block they use is almost mainstream on all of them, depending of the CC they just make bore bigger, bet the new LC4c is just a slightly bigger bore and not much else. 390's engine more than anything, are prone to overheat and kick the cooling fans soon when not in movement.

I have a WR250R and my brother has a DRZ400E.
Honestly both bikes are great and you'll just get used to what you buy.
For me, I didn't want to fuck with carbs and I valued light weight. For my brother, he wanted something cheap, reliable and easy. The DRZ is easy to get over here and cheap, but the WR is harder to find.
I'm jealous of how the DRZ rips on the road but off road the WR has plenty of power.
The Apprentice Adventurer has great videos showing what the DRZ is good at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9-ItdkHqms

Ask yourself these questions
>Do I want carb or EFI?
>Can I deal with the lower power of the WR on the road?
>What kind of riding do I want to do? Am I going out to the trails for day trips or do I want to do multi day adventures all over the place?

i don't wanna do much road riding if i can help it
>What kind of riding do I want to do? Am I going out to the trails for day trips or do I want to do multi day adventures all over the place?
i'll be honest i haven't been on a bike in a decade. i used to ride trails in the woods and jump shit on an ancient 2 stroke. i don't know if i'd even like road riding. i miss ripping it through power line clearings.

i think this is a slick drz and it just needs new wheels and i'd have something that could do both road and offroad. or i could sit on my hands and wait for a good deal on a wr.

in my mind i think i'd prefer the wr but that's not based on anything other than reading other people's opinions online.

or maybe i want some other bike i dunno. i've narrowed it down to the wr and drz but maybe there's other shit i should be looking at
>>
>>28696928
WR and DRZ are the only true dual sports on the market (maybe the 690 too). Everything else leans to one side or the other (more off-road focused or more road focused).
The other thing to check before you pull the trigger is if you can find the off-road wheels for the drz. My mate had a 690 with Supermoto wheels and had a hell of a time finding off-road wheels for it.
I think you'd be happy with either, just ride it and don't think too much about it.

Hello anon, jeet kun here. I stay in India, what is the problem? I thought you hated it when we came to your country.

R3 is a guy though.

A few weeks ago i mentioned here how my buddy just got his first bike back and was hanging out with a bike crew that has way more powerful bikes and would likely crash trying to keep up with them
Well it finally happened, he "mistook a tight turn for a more open one" and fell
Luckily it wasnt a huge fall, just a few bruises, but i know this wont be the last by far, and its only been like 2-3 months since he started riding
Hes the most into sports bikes and speed in our friend group, the rest of us have naked bikes or cruisers, but the rest of us also dont hang out with random crews that are into powerful sports bikes and doing wheelies

Are there any electric motorbikes that dont hide the fact they're electric? So many have fake gas tanks, fake air intakes, etc, picrel

i wonder how an electric motorbike would look if it embraced the fact its NOT a regular motorbike

my bike's motor has a problem, I believe valves are to be registered, will I be able to fix it at home by myself? I have the feeler gauge, do I need another special tool for this job?

Dumb nigger. A motogp team for what purpose? To piss millions away for nothing?
Kawasaki need to:
>Make their bikes a bit prettier
>Add a higher trim level to all their smaller sportsbikes (market them up as RR with forged wheels and akras to make them sexy and sell at higher margin). >Bring back the H2 halo model, people miss that shit. Make sure every dumb nog motovlogger gets to rip one on their channel.
>UPDATE THE FUCKING Z900RS Jesus christ it's been good for them but everyone else is catching up.
>Make a proper supernaked, the ZH2 is just a bit fat and cruisy. Either use the SC unit in something lighter and racier or make the ZX-10R more upright and naked.
>Make a few more models of the Versys, it's so unsexy and could play into the adventure LARP everyone wants right now. Also throw in the SC engine to take on thr Multistrada and M1000XR
>>
>>28697179
>To piss millions away for nothing?
Maybe to actually win the greatest racing championship in the world at least once in 75 years?
>>
>>28697165
If you motorcycle is you only mode of transport. Don't do it.
Torque wrench is probably the only other tool.
>>
>>28697165
>valves are to be registered
What? You mean adjusted? Are you sure you can even adjust them, in a lot of jao bikes you just shim them.
>>
>>28697187
Not without $100M+ investment with no guaranteed financial return. Clearly top level series aren't even their priority now given they're campaigning WSBK as Bimota.
>>
>>28697190
>we build space ships n shit but we can afford racing motorcycles

Lame, that's why no one likes them. Even in Japan it's just a boomer brand like Buick
>>
>>28697161
It's just a concept, their real EVs look normal.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2V0znCYhtlU
>>
>>28697199
DESU prefer the concept.
An electric motorcycle is not constrained by traditional design.
The motor can be placed anywhere and can take whatever shape it wants as long as it has two wheels.
Manufacturers have yet to understand this.
>>
>>28697172
CoG on a bike is different than in cars, higher CoG gives agility at the cost of stability and the opposite for lower CoG
>>
Shoomed today. New sprockets and new chain feels so good.
>>
spend a good chunk of time searching for my motorbike keys and gloves with my servant, we couldnt find it at all
where the hell did i leave them?? worst case scenario someone stole both or i dropped them in my huge backyard somehow, thank god i have a copy of the key
>>
Found some keys on the ground near a bike today. Tested them and they work. Put an airtag on it, so I'm gonna go and pick it up tonight.
>>
Saw a brown person picking up something from the ground near my house, I guess he found a penny or something
>>

What is the point of MotoGP? Atleast Dakar is interesting and WSBK is cool too. I wish they allowed 650cc twins in Dakar and we could buy those bikes. 450cc single is not very interesting as a bike that I'd want to buy. Even if not Dakar bikes, I want Dakar inspired bikes.

How fucked am i if i get a phone holder with no dampeners? will my phone break or fall off when i hit a bump on the road
>>

your bike vibrates a lot more than you think it does, phone won't break it will just be unreadable
>>
>>28697382
ok so my main issue is that in aliexpress/temu i see either dampened phone holders, or waterproof phone holders, but seems like nobody thought of combining the two things into a holder
is there a way to make my phone waterproof by myself before putting it in the dampened holder

grabbed my brother's phone mount for bicycles and put a cloth between the clamp and the handlebars
The cloth alone seemed to negate most of the vibrations coming from my bike
I dont think you need those fancy dampened mounts, just something soft here and there to absorb vibrations
