I don't want it now. I'm just gonna get one of the 2024s still hanging out at a couple of different dealers in my area and use the savings to get a cheap skid plate and the aftermarket adjustable suspension. Maybe a 25 if those hit the same prices as the 24s soon.

>is the same as quick shifter you retards.
No, it's not. The e-clutch eliminates the need to use the clutch for initial take-off in first gear. How does it do that? Electronic motors that pull it in and let it out for you. Most quick shifters, including Honda's normal ones, work by just removing load from the transmission in the engine by using the ECU, no electric motors required.
Sure, you can still use the clutch for more control, especially if you're actually using it off-road, but I don't want another fail point on my bike that's pointless for a normal/experienced rider such as myself. I don't need faster off the line speed, nor do I worry about stalling my bike at take-off. It's pointless and is an added complexity I don't want or need.

What is the point of a motorcycle if it doesn't have racing aesthetics?
For traveling long distance you should buy a car, for city traffic filtering you should buy a scooter. To look cool you need a racing bike, to go offroad you also need a racing bike. If your bike can't go offroad or has no full fairings covered in racing stripes or sponsor decals - you're bike is uselles.

Completely wrong even in high speed turns, the human body weighs much less than a motorcycle, therefore, the center of gravity lies within the motorcycle not the human rider. Making turns requires input on the handlebars, most have heard of counter steering but at 'low' speeds the effect of counter steering does not occur so the rider must utilize handlebar steering. Now the point of leaning the body in the turn is more about fine tuning lean angle to adjust course over ground. Think of it like, you use the handlebars to create a general course of direction, while leaning to find tune the exact heading.
Let me take this opportunity to define 'low' speeds now. On a motorcycle there is a speed at which handlebar steering becomes counter steering, this is called the crossover point, this point however is not a black and white moment but more a gradient. I mention this because leaning also has an inverse, counter leaning. During handlebar steering, counter leaning helps at keeping the bike up because at low speeds, there aren't enough gyroscopic and centripetal forces to necessitate leaving into a turn opposed to counter leaning. At the crossover point, this changes, with enough physical forces at play, one needs to lean into the turn instead of out because forces are pushing far outboard rather that inboard.
Anyways, if we examine the center of gravity deeper, we'll see it stays closer to the bike than the human so steering with the handlebars is s requirement more than just leaning. If we were talking about bicycle where the center of gravity lies significantly within the human than the vehicle, that boomer would be right but in motorcycles, this is where the fundamental difference lies.
>>
>>28704319
Don't these things ride like shit?
>>
>>28704344

>>
>>28704383
Didn't read. Countersteering happens at all speeds.
Nerd.
>>
>>28704344
Also btw, that boomer is absolutely right on checking for full range of motion, also make sure the throttle, brakes, and clutch return to their rear position properly at full lock. For example, removing all the slack from the throttle can cause it to stick at full lock. Most squids and noobs won't notice the problem until it's too late but it's critically important when you do have the skill to perform a full lock low speed maneuver that the throttle or clutch doesn't stick

GSX750R is the best motorcycle ever made.

1 First ever supersport
2 Looks sick
3 Still in production
4 One and only 750 left
5 Cheap for what it is even brand new
6 Yamaha 750 was a homologation bike for 50k and it only had 106hp.
7 Reliable
8 Many Custom or OEM parts both new or used
9 Can be bought used, there are many options
10 Suzunoki Rin is hot

The 1000Gt looks nice.
CFmoto got their 1000 twin adv and a V4 gp bike.
And BMW as already released their pricing for Australia for the 450, it will be $13k ride away.
>>
>>
>>28704453
But I think 450GS is good though. Himmy 750 is based on the 650 air cooled 270 engine, all new frame, adjustable suspension. Its quite on the old AT, but if you want a simple retro AT like bike, this is the only option I think. V3 Honder is cool, New GSXR1000 is cool. Norton 650 will be based on F450GS engine, this should also be made in India, just imagine F450GS, bigger and cheaper. I just love the Norton ADVs anon. Did they release their V4 bike, that is exciting, but nothing that I can ever buy.

Poorfag here, looking to get my first bike soon. Budget is $2k max for the bike itself. It has to be a sport bike. Looking for an 08-09 Ninja 250 that's ready to go. Is this unreasonable in 2025? The only ones I see on the market the owners are asking $2500-3000.

CBR250R, CBR300R, CBR500R, R3? RC390 if you really want it. These are the options, but I doubt any of them will be cheaper than a Ninja 250, but do check and you might get lucky. If I were you, I'd also consider non sport bikes and there will probably be more deal.
>>
>>28704482
The price is alright I thought they were going to do 14-15k. TVS (BMW) has yet to realise that when people are out adventuring they are more than 300km from a petrol station.
The Himmy is way better hands down. But we know people want that extra cylinder for some reason and don't want to look poor in front of randos.

Naked bikes just don't make sense

Hmm let me just sit upright and get blasted by the wind? Especially in the winter. They are actually worse than a sports bike for touring too.

You can legitimately lie on a sports bike and rest your head protected from wind and be comfy when doing big highway miles.

If you want to hop on and off or have manoeuvrability then get a scooter

I disagree anon. I think it's in a perfect spot displacement wise. It's going to be tuned for high efficiency and emissions, so it's not going to make literbike power. It will probably be more like what the XSR900/MT09 CP3 motor or the engine that's in the Z900RS. It's a new VFR type bike, not a supersport. Still, since it's entirely new tech they'll need to demonstrate its performance first before they put it in more "boring" bikes so people don't just write it off as an econo-engine.

Honda knows what they're doing. It'll be very manageable and tame, nothing like an H2. Remember, my bike is 1100cc and makes <100hp so displacement is not the only thing to pay attention to.

Brought her to her 1st inspection today.
Yesterday I fitted an aftermarket windshield, radiator grill and belly pan. Looks great, but I had to see a mechanic for a fucked up bolt(read: I wrechned it the wrong way).
Mechanic fixed my problem, Honda sold me a new screw for 6 buckaroos and I've still saved over 400 yurodollars for not buying thse copypasted parts OEM.

~7hr ride home tomorrow, will try to take a picture.

AI Overview
Yes, motorcycle model databases like Motorcycle Specifications and Cycle World allow you to filter for sport touring motorcycles after 2005 and sort by wet weight. These sites and others have comprehensive databases that let you narrow your search by manufacturer, model, year, and other criteria like weight and engine size.
Here's how to find the information you need:
Use a dedicated motorcycle database: Websites such as Motorcycle Specifications and Cycle World have large databases of motorcycle models.
Apply filters: Most databases have advanced search or filtering options. Look for filters to select "sport touring" as the motorcycle type, "2005" or later as the model year, and a "wet weight" or "curb weight" metric.
Sort the results: Once you have applied the filters, sort the results by wet weight in ascending or descending order to see the lightest or heaviest models first.
Check model-specific information: For each model, the database should provide a detailed specifications sheet, including its wet weight.
This approach will give you a list of all sport touring motorcycles produced after 2005, sorted by their wet weight, allowing for easy comparison.

What should I buy? Ideally in the 3000€ range. I'd largely use it for urban mobility with occasional longer trips (~100km) at potentially highway speed. Bonus if it can comfortably sit my girlfriend and our dog in a backpack or carry groceries. Needs to be at least 125cc for highways. Small form factor is appreciated

Nope. a 125's top speed is around 80 km/h. You'll need a 155/160 for highway travel but only for relatively short distances. A Yamaha NMAX 155 or Honda PCX 160 will at max revs on the highway. A 300cc would be better but bikes in this category will be pretty big and heavy and probably don't fit your "small form factor" preferences. They're also more expensive. I paid AU$9.5K for my 300cc scooter.

Market's in the fucking gutter right now so you can probably cop something well maintained for gigacheap.
I'd reccomend something that sits at the high range of the power limit with as big an engine you can get if you plan on duo riding it. One bike that comes to mind is Moto Guzzi 650 Nevadas, they're right 47.5hp on the dot and are apparently pretty solid bikes overall if maintained well.

You're trying to turn this into some kind of gay brandfag culture war thing but it's not going to happen.

You're making absurd assumptions about what they mean by "the performance of a 1200cc unit" in a doomed attempt to question my reading comprehension. Once again - my 2017 Honda has an 1140cc inline four that produces about 90hp. If Honda makes a 900cc engine that produces the same power while being smaller, lighter, more fuel efficient, and able to provide more low end grunt than the power rating would suggest by using the electric induction setup that sounds like a great deal to me.

It is absolutely going to be a VFR/CB style "daily rider" do it all bike. Not a supersport. If you can't see this you might be retarded.

>I distrust Italian mechanical
>I was looking at a Kymco
I've owned two Kymcos. A 125cc Agility Carry that was bulletproof and just kept going despite me dropping it several times, and Like 150S which kept breaking down on me. The engine would simply die without warning while riding and I'd have to come to a stop to start the engine again. When I took it back to the dealer they gave me an identical loan bike that also kept breaking down on me so I wouldn't recommend a Kymco.

If V-twins are so good then explain why is SV cheaper than MT?
>>
>>28705112
Rotor eating isn't what I'd really be concerned about when you can find cheap rotors that are close enough to oem spec these days, the real problem with running HH/metallic pads is maintaining brake temperature. These pads are great if your environment has a lot of braking to keep them warm enough to feel nice but when they're cold, they perform like garbage, grabby and little modulation before lockup, not to mention noisy and gritty feeling, until they're warm. For every day riding even semi-metallic might be too aggressive but are a better option if you want better longevity than organic pads but honestly I prefer organic pads because their softness provide a lot of modulation before lockup

>you can even put pieces of wood between the horizontal struts and the plywood real quick and easy
Yes I could just slot them under the existing cross pieces and nail them in. Good point. It is pretty strong but that would provide more support.

Each triangle has diagonals to its neighbour in both directions. The other thing I am not 100% happy with is the structure of the steps but all the force is downward there.

>>28705173
Yep. The bike will live in the house. Nowhere else to put it and I am not leaving it in sight of the local Irish diaspora who put the niggers to shame for pinching anything metal.

Here is a pic of it before I fitted the diagonal members that hold it together.
>>
>>28705198
but SV is cheaper than MT in the same places all around the world, why is that?
>>
>>28705200
the structure itself looks plenty strong, I'm just worried the plywood itself is going to have way too much travel and give in if your bike is not exactly centered. Just a little safety margin to put them.
>>
>>28705202
my best guess
SV is older, so there's no reason to buy one for 7k, when you can find a 20 years old one for 2k. So they lower the price for newer SVs
>>
>>28705132
I have tinnitus. I think it's probably mainly from many hours of riding with a cheap shitty loud helmet and no earplugs when I was younger like a retard. A few concerts and some shooting accidents I'm sure didn't help.
>>
>>
>>28705206
But the cp2 platform has been around for quite the time now too, maybe 10 years younger but still like 2 decades old now and the platform should be easier to produce considering it only has 1 head instead of 2 but yet it's still more expensive
>>
>>28704444
Why would the release a direct competitor to their twins cup race bike with a less powerful engine?
>>28705192
Name a performance/category equivalent where the VTwin bike is cheaper than the parallel. One cylinder head vs two. Smaller, simpler timing chain. Only one set of cams.
>>28705190
The used market is a crapshoot and not really a valid metric for anything other than what people are willing to buy for or delusional enough to try and sell for. An SV650 and an MT07/FZ07 in equal condition, of equal age, sell for about the same money.
