The Triumph is carbed?
My Sprint was fuel injected and the FI system was a bit iffy, it didn't want to trim itself really and it had issues getting off the line, bogging down if you cranked it under 3k rpm.
Stuck a power commander to it and a shop tuned it, ran like a dream after that.
I would've preferred carbs desu because at least I know my way around them.

It was a helluva trip, there was chains strung across one ghost who looked like a old colleague of mine.. Jacob it was.. he was in absolute misery who was dragging chains across the floor as he howled in agony warning me that my cold shrew heart would be visited by 3 ghosts. I didn't believe him but sure enough right when the clock rung each evening hour, one by one. They would arrive.

Anyway that's why I need a Santa hat on that photo
>>

Aint no way I'm doin that again, now do you think you can help a redeemed soul harness his Christmas spirit with a Santa hat on the bike?

>I've been waiting over a month now and I'm scared.
I was in the same boat, waiting 2 months for my cylinder heads that came outside the EU, they have some gay ass bullshit in the EU right now regarding shipments that they need documents proving the origin of the products, that they're not made in the US or some shit like that because orange man bad muh trade wars.
The fact that the ancient 60s cylinder heads had Cдeлaнo в CCCP stamped on them along with the Soviet proof markings wasn't enough, need to have documents to prove their origin.
Kinda difficult to dial the Soviets right now for any documents.
>>

Are fuel stabilizers actually worth it or should I just siphon the fuel? I won't be able to ride my baiku for the next 2-3 months and I already have ~1,5 month old fuel there.
>>
>>28780428
couple of capfuls of two stroke oil are all you need. the seasonal nature of the use of most two stroke engines (in lawn equipment, snow throwers, etc) means that 2T oil already has stabilizers in it
>>
>>28780419
Im not here, im split personality among various timelines and threads
This is why im going insane
>>
>>28780428
ive never used stabilizer and had no issues. if you are worried about gunking the carb then just use the drain screw. fuel injectors are high pressure and dont clog.
>>
>>28780428
This:
>>28780478

Anyone have experience with the FTR1200? I'm looking at a leftover new 2024 base model my local dealer has.
I dont like ipad screens so losing the tech is ok with me, only thing i dont like is the lack of storage. Also fuel economy looks like ass, but i still got more mpg on my Versys x300 (85-92mpg) than other forum users did (65-70mpg).
I think another anon on here had a ftr
Anyways Merry Christmas and ride safe bros.
>>
>>28780586
Not true by any stretch of the imagination
>>
>>28780622
They're badass bikes but the only downside Aside from how sketchy they can be due to wheelbase and power is the small gas tank.

It's not that the ftr has bad fuel economy its just you're going to be filling it frequently due to the size of the tank. As for storage man, that is not what that class of bike is ment for man. Indian is a hitter though so if you want it, do it.
>>
>>28780637

>>
>>28780668
>Riding a bike in general is risky no matter where you go pussy
Not in Japan though you can just relax and enjoy the ride there and not worry about getting squished by a speeding monster truck. I was aware of this since age 7 btw it's old news to me I've internalized it you are still living in a fantasy- no nightmare world where riding is deadly.

I kinda wanna boot up old school goonscape but the game is such a waste of time man, like i feel guilty playing it
>>
>>28780640
It sounds exciting, i was cross shopping with a nightster 975. It seems the ftr is pretty much maxed out with its 12.5.1 compression ratio. You probably cant get much more power out of it even with cams.
Only thing i can think of is messing with the lifters to increase compression and better flowing exhaust/intake.
I have read about their cold start issues, but i think manufacturers cheap out on factory batteries. Lead acid is trash and lithium is worth it in my opinion.
>just you're going to be filling it frequently due to the size of the tank
I heard about how annoying it is to fill up, but to be honest its beneficial. Slower filling means less air into the fuel you get.
>As for storage man, that is not what that class of bike is ment for man
I know, i bought a bag for my versys, sometimes you just want to grab some snacks for home instead of taking the car. I usually have a backpack on me.
Center stand wouldve been nice.

The Nightster will probably be more comfortable for longer rides, and you'll have a much better dealer support network. Think they've worked out the electrical gremlins the 22-23s had too. Depends on whether you like the neo-sportster look they were going for and the fact that they somehow managed to make a 90 horsepower V-twin sound as miserable as they have.

yeah the nightster is appealing. But the ftr has good specials, and its my kind of bike (standards/naked).
If i got a nightster i would lift the seat height at the minimum with mid pegs, + intake + 2in2 exhaust (freedom performance) + tune.
The nightster looks ok, it can be made to look really nice. It's a comfy bike, and the new blackout engines look really good and not plasticky, just wish they did something with the other side.
I would like to make something mine, but at the same time its an investment, nightster is not a sporster and has little aftermarket support. Still is very appealing since better mpg, near same power after tune and still being sold. I think only the 22's had problems for the nighster while ftr still has cold start issues.
We"ll see though because i cant even find prep and freight fees for the FTR.
