>Chameleon tranny cries some moar thread

This thread is for liter bike riders, who have liter bikes of a 900cc minimum, or aspiring liter bikers, who want to buy a liter bike.

New bake as we maxed out the last thread, and the learner/ liter dichotomy is going strong.

>Actual liter bike things, discussed by people who actually have liter bikes of a 900cc minimum, or at least those wanting to buy a liter bike
>liter biker tricks, like wheelies, stoppies, 369 bunny hops, tail whips, and posting bike
>gear advice from literchads: you don't need gear if you don't have a bike. If you can't post bike, you don't have bike.
>liter biker wife pics, webms, and swapping. Chameleon has never seen a vagina IRL
>Biker discussion with liter bike havers, and people looking to get a liter bike.
LOL at the one permaseething chameleon tranny lulzcow

>a 600 RR is the recommended learner bike minimum, and the learner thread exists for learner discussions, although learners who want to ask literchads are encouraged. A liter over 900cc is the minimum for elite riders, who are the apex predators of the motorbike world.

Get the Africa twin and just don't be retarded on it / accept you're going to drop it at least once so buy frame sliders n shit.

As long as you physically fit the ergonomics of the bike (as in you're not a 4' manlet trying to straddle a bike ment for a 6' chad) and you don't stab the brakes or monkey twist the Throttle you're good.

Don't let dipshits convince you to buy something shittier for the sake of climbing a fake performance ladder. Buy what you want if it fits you.

nice 'zuki
so far all the stuff i have seen has at least some semi-rigid back,if i could get like a small rigid tailbag to store my camera i'd be even more happy desu because while i don't like the idea of vibrations, the idea of getting a nikon lens between my vertebras is even less ideal. my only compain is that i think the tail of my bike is even too smooth and i'm worried i don't have the best place to tie one up, the sys-frame would have helped with that eventual add-on if i find their bag are too small

it seems my options are:
- buy the rhinowalk saddlebag base with the 10l bags to try make "modular" rackless saddlebags for something like 60 bucks i get 30l of space in 3 small bags on the tail. not sure i like how small they are and how flimsy it looks.
- get the rhinowalk saddlebags for 80 eurodollars and get the probably perfectly reasonable capacity of 28l maybe a bit more and i guess i can still add another bag on the passenger seat if needed since the straps go there it's not exactly free
- big semirigid tailbag, something like a 20l that is expandable to just put on the back and just secure with straps probably for 60-80 buckaroos
- sw-motech sysbags for 1/10 the price of my whole 'ku, the only option that is hardmounted and that is not chinese stuff, the usual 30l give or take with the added benefit of being 2 seconds to remove and leaving my pillon seat free (i will never use it anyway)
- the OEM bags with their absurd 600 bucks pricetag for two small bags.

i was expecting the saddlebags to be more expensive but they are basically half what i paid for handguards, they seem like a reasonable deal
>>
>>28808759
>i guess i'm just a wee bit paranoid about leaving them on.
Nah you will be fine

Take em off if you are worried.
I have toured across many countries and i have always just left them on.
Who is going to nick shit from a crusty, meth fueled biker?
>>
>>28808759
Honestly, the other thing worth considering is just get cheap ones.
At the end of the day a bag is a bag.
>>
>>28808758
Maybe in the future I will. I don't even have a license, and I don't think I will for a while. How late is too late to start learning to ride? Maybe I should just get a Z50, they don't require special licenses where I live, they're technically considered a small car.
>>

lol people do it when they have mid-life crises.
you will be fine.

There isn't a true time to be too old to ride UNLESS it's aggressive riding positioned sport bikes then your back will tell you when you're too old to ride.

But an ADV? Nah man, you can ride that fucker like a goldwing chad till you're 80 just don't drop it and throw your hip out when picking it back up.

You should get into it sooner than later though, it's such a fun experience that you'd kick yourself for not jumping on 2 wheels sooner.

>y that logic, all cars would just be in one big threa
No, silly. We would all be making threads about each little issue until the rest of /o/ bullied us off into a containment thread, like how /avg/ and wrenching have a containment thread.
By your logic, every topic in this thread should be it's own thread, like the rest of /o/. Is that what you want? Because this "solution" is half-assed, poorly thoought-through, and really just your own narcissism and self-aggrandizing.

Complete newfag to these generals but ive been in some very long running ones on other boards; if you have the user base to sustain it it actually makes a ton of sense to have a split learner and a more experienced literbike thread. Both camps get a thread that caters to their skill level, newfags feel more comfortable asking dumb questions, and the literfags get a thread for themselves. However the learner thread can exist under the wing of the literbike thread, allowing the literfags to chime in with sage advice when needed.
The only reason I could see someone hating the idea is out of concern of the thread dying due to lack of posters (which is a fair concern, but one /dbt/ doesnt seem to have), or muh oldfag appeal of "its always been this way so it should stay that way"
As an observer with no skin in the game, it seems like a sensible move with only upsides that helps foster growth of the hobby.

look how he tries to control the topic with obvious samefagging and spamming his retarded opinions that nobody has ever agreed with beyond himself

i'm almost convinced by the saddlebags, my camera gear should use one side and still leave some space so i have no excuse leaving it behind even for dayrides as i need to balance the single bag of stuff i'd take with me on dayrides anyway
i'll probably still use the backpack when commuting since it's just more practical that way instead of having to fish out my stuff from the two bags while parking on the sidewalk but for weekend/ week-touring it should be plenty.

I have an AGV X3000 and will need to replace it in the next couple years. I am hopelessly addicted to the lego-spaceman """""retro""""" type of helmet. I like the look but I NEED the add'l vertical field of view the narrow chinbar provides. I've tried normal helmets and they just feel miserably cramped. I started with a spaceman helmet and now I can't quit them.

Anyway what's a good """retro""" helmet these days? X3000 is no longer made. I had a "TORC" (or Nexx, or or or whatever new name the Chinese brand has) T1 before and it was fine but definitely felt worse than the X3000. The Glamster is dogshit and really expensive. I know the Bell Bullitt original was bad but they have a new "GT" revision that is apparently much better - anyone have any experience?

Nothing's wrong with it now (a little bit of the plastic seal the face shield seats down into is coming apart, but that's very minor). I don't believe it's 100% necessary to replace a helmet every 5 years, but I do occasionally drop it or bump it into things and those little bumps probably add up over time. It'll be four years old in May, I'll probably start looking for a new one two or three years after that. Or I get in a minor crash and need a new one anyway (replaced my last one after a small spill). I want to get an idea of the market now so I have a baseline when the time comes.
