>Chameleon seethes, while the rest of the world makes quality bikeposts

This is a threador liter bike riders, who have liter bikes of a 900cc minimum, or aspiring liter bikers, who want to buy a liter bike.

New bake a the last thread, litter thread is maxxed and the learner/ liter dichotomy is going strong.

>Big boi liter bike things, discussed by people who actually have liter bikes of a 900cc minimum, or at least those wanting to buy a liter bike
>liter biker illusions, like wheelies, stoppies, close-up magic, stage hypnotism and posting bike
>gear advice from literchads: you don't need gear if you don't have a bike, or don't fall off. Just don't fall off and you are 100% safe
>liter biker wife pics, webms, and swapping. Chameleon has still never seen a vagina
>Biker discussion with liter bike havers, and people looking to get a liter bike.
LOL at the one permaseething chameleon tranny lulzcow

>a 600 RR is the recommended learner bike minimum, and the learner thread exists for learner discussions, although learners who want to ask literchads are encouraged here . A liter over 900cc is the minimum for elite riders, who are galant knights of the motorbike world.

Yea, I'm very much against all kinds of electron9ic bullshit, but the 3 pot was sublime, plus it handles like a 125cc sports bike, it was very nimble and didn't have that heft my CBR or GSXR had.

I actually bought the bike on a whim as I went to the city over to the motorbike dealership to ask for some gaskets and oil seals for my CBR1000F, which they didn't have on hand and had to order. Because it was weekend, it would be till the middle of the next week when they got the parts and I didn't feel like sitting about idly, walked about the store for a bit checking the bikes out and then that yellow thing in the corner struck my eye. Paid 4 grand cash on the spot for it and rode it home. 2 buck oil seal became a 4 grand bike purchase, but it was all worth it.
>>
>>28815519
Dangerously based.
I mist admit, i would have an RS again in a heartbeat. Interestingly it seems to be a forgotten bike.

probably wouldnt work unless they were mod-made threads and manually moved to /bant/, which is beyond faggoted
he'd stay here on his own, spamming the thread with more stock images and replying to himself
then the uninformed would continue to post and keep the threads "alive" (on one of the slower boards, where even a thread at bump limit stays on for over a week)

the jannies have all the info they need to know exactly who's doing it, they just refuse to act
last week they removed 5-6 of his threads in a day

Well, we are looking at, for us, a castrphic ice storm, and the last time this happened, all of the energy production in my state shut down because they decided -10F operating temps weren't going to happen. Assuming the power goes out again, my plan is to heat my kitchen by running my bikes motor for 3-5 mins, kill it, and then wheel the bike inside to let the exhaust radiate heat outward. How many degrees do you think I can get out of this method?

In order to stay sane after dark, I guess I will just draw my bike by candlelight, like one of my French girls.
>>
>>28815724
Dont do this

You could just make a fire outside, put hot coals into a double set of pans and keep your bed warm like in ye olden days by stuffinf it under the bedding within the pans
Obviously layrr it up a bit

Or just man up -10f is -12c, thats cozy if you just layer and use a sleeping bag
Youll manage without this excess of rolling a bike in after a quick stsrt like this
>>
Why don't I see sports bikes nowadays? I don't think it's because people are too poor cause if this was the case, Harleys would disappear too. Maybe they got so fast humans can't see them or all of their owners died in crashes.
>>
>>28815787
They're IQ filters
They're either too chicken shit afraid because tiktok told them they're dangerous or they fucked up massively and got killed by their own shortcomings.
Also the dudes who used to ride em lots are too old now and the new wave of youth aren't interested in real life in general so they don't even bother getting into motorcycles at most they get into mopeds because theyre cute toys. The Olds go to crusiers, or nakeds, or ADVs now, even a sport tourer is a rare choice for them because they physically just can't deal with it.

There are exceptions and plenty of riders who exclusively ride sport bikes for a long time but those guys go to areas where others aren't just so they can truly open up the bike or practice maneuvers in isolation as a way to load the dice in their favor. Distant mountain roads, or empty straightaways, scenic routes with minimal people, places like that.

>>28815775
Damn... Just do jiu jitsu on bike robbers man...
>No u have to fight me on the floor lol
>>
>>28815787
>>28815787
Motorcyclists are getting older on average now and sport bikes are generally bought by younger buyers. There's also more nekkid bike and sport tourer options these days. Unless you're racing on a track, a naked bike does everything a sport bike does with way better ergonomics and handling. Power delivery is usually tuned to be better for street use as well and insurance companies don't fuck you as hard with them compared to sport bikes. Sport tourers also get that same feel while being much kinder on your body over long-distance rides.

This isn't even acknowledging the Dual Sport/ADV pill that many are taking.

bikers aging out and biking is becoming prohibitively expensive for young people (in comparison to cars)

in the UK, a full A licence (once youre 24) costs you like 2x what a car licence is - its even more if you go up through the stages and have to re-do the mod 1+2 at each stage

add on top of that, insurance for your first year on a sports bike (even a 400-600) is going to be in excess of 1k, its just unaffordable for a lot of people in a lot of different ways

the people WITH the expendable income and spare time to do lessons and get their licence are then either too old to care, or have too much as stake in life (job, wife, kids), to want to risk it on a sports bike, so end up on advbikes, since the speed limit is still 60-70 and you can go more places with an advbike compared to sports/supersport

also a lot of people just got wiser to safety, and instead of racing on street, will just pay the fee to go on track for a day, and trailer their bike to it

as for harleys, their owners are much older, and soon you'll stop seeing them as they get too old to ride and the brand dies out (but dont worry, theres a new war right around the corner so the US govt can bail them out for the 34th time)

the uk in particular also has a massive problem with corrupt/inept councils being unable or unwilling to fix gigantic potholes in the road which pose a genuine risk to cars, let alone bikes, so lots of people dont bother riding because of the apathy towards all road users from our own local govts

sportbikes were kinda an analog to tuner culture in the 00s and now most people just pretend to do cool stuff as a flex/aura farm more than actually do cool stuff. Add to that nobody wants to work on vehicles because of the uglification and shitification of the new models. its not about money bikes are cheap and considered prole transport worldwide, anyone saying otherwise is either lives in a distorted/overregulated environment or is a super poorfag.
>>
>>28815787
I want to own a liter sportsbike before they're regulated out of existence.
>>
>>28815931
To a point.
The gentlemen's agreement has sort of seen the death of the busa/blackbird/zx14 class, and it has become a bit of a novelty, while sportbikes are now hiting the 186 mark easily.
Most folks will pick a sports bike over a hyper tourer now.
>>
>>28815842
>Dual Sport/ADV pill
Let's be real, it's the ADV pill. Most people rightfully choose the scrambler version of a touring motorcycle because that's what they'll get the most utility out of.

There's 4 groups of people still choosing a dual sport, in descending order of size:
> guys too poor to buy the ADV they really wanted
> Brazilians
> old men who grew up watching On Any Sunday and are too scared to buy a voltometer
> guys who ride dirt aggressively enough to know that a t7 is too fucking massive and they need a dedicated dirt machine

yeah usually in groups, sometimes 125s.
>>
>>28815968

>>
>>28815951
more folks who have sports bikes dont buy them new, they steal them old and most bikes need work plus scene around them is dead thats why you dont see them unless your in the hood. between snowstorms there is usually a clapped out grey 90s gsxr750 parked and a four cylinder symphony or two in the air
>>
>>28815986
Man.. i never see clapped out ones here, albeit i am in a wealthy area. But even at bike cafes its either brand new exotic bikes, or old ones that look pristine.
>>
>>28815987
that sounds pretty nice, not enough bikes in my state to have more than a harley boomer meetup or two in the summer unfortunately. the hood is great for getting good bikes cheap though if you know how to fix them. like 2k for 100+hp and under 6k miles with title cheap.

No, the change happened in November, and the two threads have been a runaway success ever since.

The old, lame, copypaste, javascript, same-thread for two years days are over.

attention seeking canadian faggot got mad we made fun of his terrible wheelie skills
his goal is now to destroy /dbt/ by splitting the thread and fracturing the community
he tried by making a different thread for every style of bike, and the jannies eventually deleted them all
but now he's just spamming this thread, and "learner" thread because for some reason the janiggers dont ban him for that
he's also removing links and adding random schizobabble to the OP, because he thinks people read the OP in a general

in his post 28816575 he claims it started in november, but you can look at the archives and it wasnt even until december 20th, and "the most popular threads" is an even more dubious claim, considering 1. we're a general and 2. of the first 50 posts in the most recent learner thread, 43 of them were him just bumping it, before poor unsuspecting anons started posting in there because this thread went bumpless over night and fell all the way to page 3??!?!?!

CB650R (w/ E-clutch) or ZX4RR for my next bike. What do anons think?

I live in the US, so the Kawi's wind protection will be appreciated on the highway, but I also don't like dealing with plastics when doing oil changes and such. I have never ridden a bike with e-clutch or quick shifter but my impression is that the e-clutch functions as a quick shifter but also offers clutchless riding from a stop.

The blackbird is built better and draws far less heat on you if you keep a quiet exhaust on it. Almost nobody gels on the fact it goes 180, I knew a dude who had a blackout switch on his and would never get caught speeding because people would take 1 look at it and think its a slow tourer bike. The busa is faster yes, but negligently and you don't have the same build qualilty honda has.

If you have no ego to appease to others, the bird is best. It's the gentleman's hooligan bike. For the man who's an adrenaline junky but still has to keep up posh appearances. 180 in leathers on Sunday, wear a formal suit on Monday type of dude.
ZX bikes are fast af too but like the busa they are visually very loud bikes (design wise), they pull too many eyes on you which is why the bird is unique. It's a perfect sleeper machine. It "flies under the radar" very fitting to be named after the SR71

am i right to be skittish about driving over freshly laid road salt? i'm in south texas so i don't usually encounter it but today on the way home most of my highway commute had salt (or whatever they use) and intuitively it seems like i should be careful as it would be like riding on sand and the bike could slip out in curves. it was otherwise sunny and 70 degrees and i made it home without incident by leaning as little as possible but not sure how actually sketchy it can be

You say that, but Kove charges JP prices for their rally bikes, and according to /dbt/ they are just as shitty as mystery meat CN bikes half their price. So it's not really about pricing, is it? If /dbt/ is to be believed, CN cannot and will never build a good motorcycle. They'd even tell you to buy RE over any Chink bike.

Depends on the model, but the old K bricks are deemed completely indestructible, like we're talking nuclear levels of unkillable that would make even the strongest jap bike fold.
Airheads are fairly sturdy, they have an one piece hollow crankshaft that might crack under heavier loads, but otherwise they're fairly robust engines with little to go wrong.
>>
>>28817686
chink bikes go out of print quicker than they come in
if you buy anything other than a brand new bike, and you have any mechanical problem, you'll be waiting like 6 months for a replacement part
and even buying a brand new bike, you get about a year of use out of it before the start a new line with new tooling and stop producing spares for your model
add on top of that no native dealerships or support in almost every country, youre SoL when the inevitable engine grenading happens
>>28817702 if youre strapped for cash, or poor, get an older honda

>>28817741
chinks will sell you shit for dirt prices, because its useless, then the second they realise westoids are dumb enough to pay more for it, they'll up their prices and put a tiny bit of polish on the surface level of the product, but its still the same chinkshit garbage underneath

If you want an air cooled evo I think 2003 is the best year because it’s right before the rubber mount frame
I was never a dyna guy so nothing to say about those, I was happy to see the dyna go. I never rode any of the touring bikes either, but what applies to the soft tails applies to these.
As for the soft tails I think the m8 engine is worth the money. So in my opinion 2017 and newer are the best Harley have ever been.
Actually I think the current lineup is the best pretty much across the board. A little tuning on the 975 rev max gets you over a hundred ponies. The m8 engine is fantastic in all its iterations. The new tech packages as far as rider aids are really good, if that’s what you’re into.
Of course if you want an air cooled evo, like I said, 2003. They’re long in the tooth though. 96-03 if you want a bigger range, I believe they got 5 speeds in 96, but you may want to fact check
I am not a fan of the new captcha, so many clicks

I've been looking at Dynas, FXRs, and Road Kings. Of these, the FXR will be the least common, but it's often referred to as the best handling harley. The Dynas have a huge aftermarket especially for stunting. Everything I've read about the Road Kings has been people praising it for how great it is at crushing miles. It depends on what kind of riding you want to do.
I do NOT own a Harley. yet.

i don't care about a scooter thread. if you think the board needs another motorcycle adjacent thread, go for it. i think it's retarded that there's a thread for motorcycles under 1000CC and a thread for motorcycles above it. a lot of the time people are discussing shit that would fit in either thread so it just serves to divide the community. if i want to ask about motorcycle gear, or talk about a cool place i went to ride, which thread should i put that in?
are scooters really so different that it necessitates another thread? i really don't think so and i like seeing scooter shit, dirt bike shit, pocket bike shit, big huge goldwing shit all in the same thread because it's interesting. the community is small and the board moves slowly. having one thread that gets remade every couple days is a lot more enjoyable, to me, than three threads that get remade once a week.
but making a thread is free. and if you think there's value in segmenting off your niche and disengaging from what is effectively a "two wheeled vehicle general", then do it.

The fat boy I believe has always been a soft tail, so I would get one with an m8 engine if it were up to me, but I’ve never ridden the fat boy, or any of the really fat rear wheel bikes, except the new “sportster” (they really should have given the moniker to the nightster, which I love). The new sportster is perhaps the worst motorcycle I’ve ever ridden
If I were in the market for a cruiser,I’d get a used nightster. I never owned one personally, but I do currently own a rev max 1250 engine, and I’m familiar with the tech package, and it’s just a fantastic ride. I’ve ridden the nightster quite a lot for a bike I don’t own, i always try to get on it at the local dealer when they have bike nights with test rides.

They may not be your type of bike, but the 650 single cylinders live in your range. 42mpg if you're wringing it's neck, 48 if you're keeping it chill.

I used to want a literbike but now I think it makes no sense.

Nearest track suitable for it is 100 km away. Also you can go to jail for going faster than 210 kmph on a highway. Meanwhile offroad tracks are everywhere so a dirt bike or a dual sport seems more reasonable.

I dont know how much longer I can deal with this. Buying this bike is the best thing I did in the last 6 months. It's been so liberating and fun to just let her rip on the highway or take the scenic routes and just cruise along on country roads at sunset.
Now I drive to work in my shitty old car, which is no fun at all, and when I come home from work I just do my boring old routines, gym, eating, binge reading and playing arc raiders. It's like having maybe 3 hobbies for your entire life, then suddenly you have 4 and after a few months you have to pause your new hobby because fuck it's cold outside and you're back to your old slog. My plan is to stop using public transport and commuting by bike instead.
Each month I pay 40€ for an unlimited pass for all trains and buses, I'm looking for a bike that I could fill up for that amount of money and travel everyday to work and back.
Something around 3.5L/100km (around 70mpg) has a range of 500km so it's enough for the entire month, all of this for 30€ so the extra cash goes for savings to pay for insurance/parts/tires etc.
>>
>>28819070
Just get some scooter or such if you're so strapped for cash.
A bicycle saves even more money.
>>
>>28819070
At the risk of being a ninny remember that you will no longer have all the safety features that bus came with. Include in your budget helmet (fasten the blooody thing) gloves and boots as a bare minimum buy. A decent jacket and heavy jeans should be next on the list. I think I paid about a third of the price of my first bike on gear.
Be safe because you only get one go at this.
Have fun.

I don't know what I want anymore. I was originally looking at a 4-650 CBR or the like, and now it's looking like I might actually have money for a new toy soon but I'm a 30 Year old Boomer and the idea of spreading myself over the pavement at 150 MPH is less appealing by the day. I still want that bike freedom though.

I think what I'm really after is not being (too) bent over the bike, the ability to lane split and maybe have a few paniers for groceries or whatever without riding something pigfat like a Harley or Goldwing. Off-roading isn't on the menu. I'm not even sure which category of motorcycle I should be looking at, any advice?

>what I'm really after is not being (too) bent over the bike, the ability to lane split and maybe have a few paniers for groceries or whatever
MAXI SCOOTER has all the storage space you need for groceries with a comfy upright seating position and has superior lane filtering qualities. You simply can't go wrong with a MAXI SCOOTER.

What you want, it sounds like, is a bike that's nice to ride around. Congrats bro! Most idiots need a decade of riding before coming to that realization.
So what you want is literally any naked with a milk crate on the back. (or a scooter if that appeals to you)
So a 600 bandit or 390 duke or SV650 or V-strom or or or or
Thing to do now is just check out bikes and buy whatever catches your eye.
