Mustang wins the pony car wars by default because the L87 6.2 V8 GM uses in the Camaro might be one of the worst V8s ever built. The catastrophic failure rate for Chevy V8s these days is estimated to be ~5-10%, which is a horrible number. honestly the GM HF 3.6 V6 sounds really good, the Kinostar on the Challenger dual exhaust setup does as well. both sound way better than some shitty inline BMW plastic tractor motor or a Nigsan VQ. Nissan VG also sounds good imo. A v6 has a nice clean, bright trumpet sound and not the straining clackety industrial grumble of an inline 6.

auto start stop is bleh, but its not the same thing that GM uses. What GM does is mechanically 'turns off' cylinder in the engine with these special lifters. You can't really tune it out either because its a physical, mechanical problem with those lifters. They rotate eventually and cause severe damage to the camshaft. With Ford's auto start stop you can either just turn it off every time you drive, or tune it out post-warranty. Its not that bad. Annoying, but not really physically damaging to the vehicle.
