Looking for a new helmet and I'm seriously considering a Bell Race Star.
Anyone here have one? On paper they seem great and it comes with a transition visor.
Otherwise I'm looking at an Arai RX7 which gets average reviews or a Shoei X-SPR which is really expensive

Need to grab non hacked fenders and the chrome trim plates that come around the footrests because someone at some point removed them, but otherwise I love how it looks and especially sounds, it has fancy mistral exhaust and has a very nice slightly rowdy tone to it without being obnoxiously loud.
It's like an italian woman, looks good, sounds amazing under you, but don't take her home as they're trouble.

At one point I was thinking about dropping a small block Guzzi engine in my Ural, one of the 750 or 850 twins thinking it'd be an improvement in reliability.
Now I'm convinced that the Ural is overall better than a Moto Guzzi.
Urals suck shit, so it doesn't look too good for bikes in general.

I don't know anyhing about bell. I'm looking at KYT NZ Race and Suomy Speedstar2. KX1 apparently doesn't have pocket for cardo speakers, but is roomy for ears. I'd get HJC because I had a CL17 and it was awesome, but HJCs aren't popular here and their visors and visor mechanisms used to suck ass.

Go try the helmets on, helmets are designed for certain head shapes, see which one fits you best. I wouldn't discount Arais for mediocre reviews. Also, don't buy old stock.

I was at the stealership this weekend and my son about to turn 4 is now the perfect size to operate the controls of a Yamaha PW50, he is very excited, I'm even more excited than he is. I didn't start riding motorcycles until I was 20 because of my parents, I'm so glad to share this with him young.

>>28838816
I do have one, it was my first expensive side helmet, my only complaint is its very very loud, i actually have quieter jet helmets, I don't know how bell pulled it off. Mine is going strong six years and probably about 12k miles on just that helmet. I wouldn't buy one again because I now know that helmets don't all sound so loud. I always use earpro so it's not so bad but still.

I like his bike reviews bc he'll often mention tidbits that other reviewers dont mention, but his other videos are ass. The ones where he just yammers, or him and his friend use the whiteboard to rank bikes. Good grief.

>>28838934
>idk anything about Bell
Bell is really interesting because they literally invented the modern helmet, but then sold out their name and reputation for money. Then they were purchased by a Qatari if I remember correctly who was obsessed with the name and the racing pedigree, and they've for the last at least decade made really good helmets. Except for the race star which is for some reason loud as sin I have had a number of their helmets which are all excellent. I like the classic helmets like the 500 and the moto 3 a lot.

Ate shit today, there was a large patch of ice on the road, probably a good 10cm or so height difference.
The front wheel instead of climbing on the raised patch slid to the side and sent the bike flying.
Only damage I could spot right off the bat is a scratched valve cover and bent stud, the stud annoys me because it's fine pitch and in a weird size being 7mm.
I'll probably just tap it for 8mm normal thread and be done with it.

I have knobbies on the ADV, not full offroad, its michelin anakee wild. Scoot has tiny 12" wheels, they don't sell knobbies for it. But I'd take my scoot and I have taken my scoot to sketchy places, and I'm not afraid of dropping it. Even if I drop it, it's way too easy to lift. I've taken my road bike to sketchy places because its easier to reach the ground and easier to lift if it ever falls.

NTA but yes, the titanium will cause a rapid galvanic corrosion to the aluminum.

Thankfully, the titanium is being mated to stainless steel so that process is slowed versus being mated to aluminum.

>My ADV might be a bit much to learn offroad with.
Define 'offroad'. Most ADV's would probably be fine for going as fast down a gravel/dirt/fire road as you're comfortable accepting risk for if shit goes sideways.

Are you trying to catch air, supercross style? Are the washouts and rocks so damn bad you might as well be doing hard enduro pace? Is it deep sand? That's really where you should have brought a lighter bike.

>Also were you shooting, drinking and riding the scoot?
That's the best isn't it? Riding trails with a AK mounted on handlebar, drinking beer and shouting yee-haw? I imagine that's what Yanks do every Sunday afternoon.

Soviet era И-40 tyres, no idea how old they are, but given how they're CДEЛAHO B CCCP, at least 30+ years.
Still got plenty of tread left on em, so I'll ride them till they're flat.
>>
Yamaha is so cooked in MotoGP I don't even wanna shill for them anymore.

Everything I like turns into shit
>>
>>28840096
Well excellent shitpost.
And for the box just check KLR forums of what people have mounted to the back.

Sounds more Yugoslavian to me. Americans would dual wield AR with a beer hat.

Every now and then a memey slop moto video from yammie is just what the doctor ordered.
In general, he's kinda meh. He's been a large cog in the anti-supersport movement, spouting the "usable power" bullshit, so he's a faggot for that.

>>28839032
That was pretty fucked up what he did to Spite, but that nigga is a fat retarded goy.

>>28839111
Shoom are you gonna make it through this deployment to the oblast?

The inline fours will sometimes produce enough vibration to stimulate their clit. The supersports 600-1000. The bigger ones are too smooth.

>>28840004
Just me, myself, and I. It's all good now, thanks.

I don't know how people go off-road on bikes weighing 450lbs or more. My dualsport is 330lb and it's a fucking bitch sometimes if I drop it. Notice all the videos showing how to pick up a bike are showing you on flat grass in dry conditions.

what kind of ADV? once you get into and and comfortable on it its absolutely based. but you're gonna basically learn by dropping it all the time. Get crash bars if you can and brushgaurds, maybe carry just enough tools and a spare clutch lever or shift lever to repair those things if they break so you dont get stuck in the sticks. Sounds dumb but check your tire pressure and see what people in your area are running offroad, makes a huge difference.
>>28839107
show us how you offroad like that instead of just being a larping fat retard
fallout fans are faggots and you're proof

Well this thing was surprisingly easy to get running after a year or so of not starting.
Just some octane boost and injector cleaner and away she went.
Are pp3 still a thing? I want pp3 tyres or something comparable in tyre life/grip, idc about wet weather performance.

That stop on your test is to prove you know what the brakes do. It isn't a competition it's to prove you don't fly over the bars or sail by the examiner with the back locked up.
Top tip for learner dudes there.

How's this a tip kys btw

Lost the front on my scoot while braking hard, I gained it back almost instantly but, I made an old man worry. He shouted at me. I rode less hard after that. I should be wary that this lil guy doesn't have ABS.
>>
>>28840174
Its f850gsa. I'm afraid of dropping it on my legs and having to trouble someone else help lift it off me. Also even when I don't, it might be a bit difficult for me to lift it. It came with all the crash protection it ever needs. Just need to install a bash plate.
>>
>>28840174
About the tyre pressure, I was running road pressure. 36, 42 I think. Also should've used the Enduro mode.
>>
>>28840109
That's a super cool bimmers anon.
