/o/'s thoughts on the upcoming Mazda RX-9?
>>28846059I dont care Let me know when it has a rotary and a manual and isnt 60k+
I've quit thinking about it entirely. They've been teasing this piece of shit since 2014. Its vaporware.
>>28846072Nigga the price of the original rx-7 FD would be $80k today. And that’s going by cpi numbers.
>>28846059>soulless electric transport pod with rotary range extenderyawn
>>28846059That car is over ten years old. Hope it remains a one off show car. Nobody will buy it. I preferred the four door version.
>>28846094Then I sleep
>>28846059Vaporware.Still looks worse than an FD.Would be obese hybrid junk instead of a pure sports car if it *did* happen.>>28846094According to the old Motor Trend article I archived the base price in 1993 was $32,500 which by BLS.gov numbers is $73,002 as of now. IDK what "actual" inflation numbers are, but car values seem to have more or less tracked with "official" gamed numbers in any case.
>>28846094Yeah but wages were higher relative to cost of living
>>28846059>500+HP skyactiv-r quad rotor>6-speed manual>sub-3000 lb curb weight>those fucking linesNo way this wouldn't have been earth shatteringly expensive, but what a design
The GR GT has a very similar shape
It's going to have a screen in the dash and some gay hybrid shit so I'm completely disinterested.
>>28846431this thing looks like every automotive design sketch ever
>>28846506this, it's even in "concept sketch red"
>>28846526>concept sketch redThat reds been a factory colour offered on every single mazda model since like 2010...
>>28846059>upcomingit's not
>>28846094Original rx7 was worth bout 36 ounces of gold, 36 ounces of gold today is worth around 180k so 80k is less than half the price of the original 1978 which cost 7kusd.
>>28846059looks cool, wonder how bad the real product will look
miata for straight people
>>28846292I used the 1995 price which was a bit under $38k
>>28846145That archway has a bunch of erect cocks.
>>28846945>seeing cocks everywhere
>>28846945you had me looking at the fucking fenders for like 12 seconds before i realized
>>28846059Looking at this thread:>>28846710Thinking this is more likely. Toyota can build the Supra coupe for chuds, while Mazda gets another based ragtop. Perfect!
>>28846059What comes out first? RX9 or Tesla Roadster
>>28847324Heat death of the universe.
>>28847317>Toyota builds RX-Vision coupe as the new Supra (steals Mazda's design & engine??)>Mazda builds SP Iconic and steals a toyota engine to make it work. Something like Toyota helping out with the financing / tech side so Mazda can finally build these great looking cars is the only thing that makes sense to me.
