Keyless is better if you DON'T. It's at its best when it lets you just hop on your bike and ride off, garage opens itself, garage closes itself, no other locks involved.

>>29101007
They're pretty new so hard to say. ANC works for shooting guns and everything else so I don't see why it would be a meme if it's done correctly, good ear cups, fast time of attack etc. It's technology I'm looking forward to, but I already have minor hearing damage, so I'm never gonna stop riding with foamies, probably.

Triumph sprint 765 concept. Yay or nay?
What if you could take a Daytona to twisties across a continent and be comfortable.

Okay, bigger concept.
A Sprint 765 GT.
>Bigger seat
>Bigger tail section
>20L fuel tank (210 mile range till reserve light @ 55 imperial MPG)

All of this would add ~27kg to the street triple's 188kg wet weight making a final 215kg wet weight for the 765gt with ~120hp on tap

Update from a few days ago:
I got the rear axle of the KLR650 off, the axle wasn't bent at all, I am just an idiot who had it at a bad angle and was using undersized tools.

I got one, those things are invincible. Biggest concern is going to be moisture buildup since you probably didn't put fogging oil in it. Just check the oil, check the tires, maybe put some gumout carb cleaner/fuel injector cleaner in depending which, take it for a spin. It's not a delicate machine.

>>29101048
Oh right, be prepared to bump start it if you haven't had a tender on it. Tiny little battery is easy to get out if you don't want to do it. Take the seat off, take the right plastic faring under the seat off where the electrical wires are, there it is held down with a rubber strap. Unstrap the battery, unscrew the terminals, slot the battery out and put it on a trickle charger overnight. you should be able to get a very strong startup noise where it doesn't sound like it's skipping at all. If it skips or chokes while you turn it over, battery is cacked, just buy a new one for $80.

I miss my bike, bros. Hasn't even been 3 weeks yet. I got the money from insurance today, which is cool, and they even gave me an extra $100 for "fees" or something. Still, I've got a trip out of the country real soon, and it doesn't make much sense for me to buy another bike before then. So, at the earliest, it looks like I won't be up and at 'em again until around Halloween.
Injuries are pretty much gone, which is nice too. Day to day sees no pain, but I'm not good enough to get back into lifting. The rhomboid does not like to carry weight yet. Soon, hopefully (please, God)

>>
>>29101504
the main issue with modern electric scooters is acquiring a beefy enough controller and batteries that can tolerate the draw. you can aliexpress it but then you're trusting chink sellers selling things to anglos not scamming them. that shit will never work out right. or you can go to amazon and the sum of parts will not be as good as getting a surron, which is already overpriced for its performance

the plan was to use the ebike parts for starting and low-speed maneuvering but the shoebox kit proved to be really unreliable and is basically decorative now. chain tension is hard to maintain because it develops enough torque to destroy any bolt-on tensioner

Got curious and went searching, this one is a bike-specific head unit but is the most popular one on the site. Claims IPX7 water resistance, not sure I would trust it but meh. It's $93 bux I'd just get it.
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256808963055006.html
>>
>>29101522
One of those little hub motors probably doesn't have the torque to turn the engine over. It was ambitious though.
>>
>>29101531
it kinda does in that it can get the whole machine going fast enough to get the clutch engaged and not instantly stop it

the bigger issue was and still is chain tension and deflection, if anything goes wrong ever the whole system locks up and either the chain gets broken in the crankcase or the chain breaks somewhere else and wraps around the rear wheel spokes. either way it's a catastrophic lockup of the rear and it's happened enough time that something in there is warped and now the clutch doesn't disengage and i've been too lazy to mallet things apart and sand/file shit down
>>
>>29101512
These things do 35kph as standard and are treated like work donkeys.
I have ridden in China and they work better than most cheap 50cc scooters. They are beyond easy to fix and maintain, as anyone that knows how to hold a wrench the correct way can do it.
If you order it off Amazon you will get scammed with factory seconds with known quality issues.
>>
>>29101536
Maybe try a combo of a heavier chain and making the chain fit without a tensioner.
>>
>>29101499
I'm split on scooter. In my region, the people on scooters I see are a combination of OBESE butter golems on the crossover equivalent of scooter, older guys on regular looking vespas, and surfers on 80s Honda scooters. CRF300L is one of the best dual sports ever made. I think you can do the Rally upgrade from stock by just changing the forks, changing the suspension, adding a windshield and a new headlight.

https://www.ridernav.com/products/can-adapter-cable

>>29102016
They're ehh.. poor touchscreen (likely the crappiest one they have) with no IPS display so good luck seeing it in a glare. Again I stand by what I said: With these things, if they claim one thing never expect it to meet those claims. Like IP67? Doubt it. That 7 at the end means it can survive 30 minutes immersed in 1 meter of water. I highly doubt anyone did that test with that screen.

But it's 150 euros. If you think it will work and you can get a Canbus converter for your BMW, do it.
>>

Nah aliexpress geniuses figured out since GS is the most sold bike last year they produce devices with specific connectors at the back. They fit perfectly into BMW cradle and can be controlled from the handlebar by the way. Also they pull all realtime bike info and have a mirror digital dash if you want. All for 50 bucks more.

Honda CB300R. I wanted something to do motocamping and most dirt bikes were too tall and have tiny fuel tanks.
I also realised no one in my shithole of a city can drive for shit, so I could go backwards on power.

Decided on a Meteor 350 because it was the only small cc bike with a centre stand, fat seat and good for camping and commuting.

Do I want something bigger or more powerful?
Sometimes. I wouldn't mind the Scram 440, Honda CB500 or Harley Davidson 440.
>>
To the guy last thread who inherited the cbr1000, definitely wrap it up and get a smaller bike to learn on. As someone who did start on a liter bike, I don't recommend it. I didn't crash, everything worked out, but I was kind of on a razor's edge with my Ducati. All it takes it self control but there's so many little things you just don't understand about how bikes handle and the higher end bikes will amplify any mistake you make. Better to just start on like a 400 or 650 twin cylinder.

>I had some questions to ask you, but I totally forgot what they were. It was something about the supermoto school.
One of the best experiences I've had riding.
I had horrible anticipation anxiety the night before and couldn't sleep. Had to wake up at 4am with just an hour of sleep to make the drive over, over-exhaustion made it such that I couldn't eat without throwing up, lowsided in the dirt once, then highsided in the dirt once, both on a press bike that wasn't supposed to get too busted up. Coach was exhausted from doing 5 school days in a row and didn't get much new across to me.
Despite all this I had a fucking blast really pushing it on such a small track with my best friends, I don't think I've ever had so much fun at speeds rarely exceeding 40mph. My gf went from having zero confidence in any corners to keeping pace with riders that had multiple years riding up on her. Hoping to go back next year if I can put the money together.

You're already not allowed to fit anything that makes the bike louder or makes emissions worse, it's just not tested at all and rarely enforced by police. I learned that it had the shittiest stock tires imaginable, that it was too heavy for offroading, that it was too slow for anything fun, but it was fun, and also never buy accessories and upgrades for something you want to sell, or rather part it out and go back to stock
Luckily it also began the trading for other bikes timeline, and i scored a cbr600f4i shortly after

The transition from pisstwin and 50hp to 100hp inline 4 with no traction or abs was awesome

Then from that experience, despite getting another fully faired zx14 i4 later; combining those, ill never be assed for full fairing ever, that shit seriously sucks
Also, knowing how i like to ride when i have power on demand; im lucky i had the self control to get rid of the death machines and not accumulate endless speeding tickets

Idk, pretty much every bike ive owned has had its quirks and compromises you just have to accept
I really want to try a shaft driven or belt drive for the next bike, preferrably a vtwin all american or a jap cruiser

Im split between honda fury, suzuki c90t, a sporty, and possibly a low rider if the price is right and the leaks are absent

Im probably leaning to the c90 because there is one for lile 6500 and its 2017 which i thought they discontinued them and i wanted to ride a suzuki bike
But i also like the fury since its pretty much a factory chopper that isnt obscenely wide like most modern ones; only thing i hate is the negative space between the gastank and front frame it looks so ugly

there's a national forest about 1.5 hours from where i live. there's single track out there i want to do.

if i wear my street jacket and pants, it's going to be hot as fuck. i normally wear mx pants and a jersey for that stuff. but i don't really want to be doing 65 on the highway in a polyester shirt.

Oyster Run today, in Anacortes, WA. It's the biggest bike meetup I've seen outside of Sturgis and Laconia. As expected like 95% of it was Harleys but that 5% had some cool shit. Busas and Gixxers and R6es, FTRs and Yamaha Midnights, basically every dualsport, every possible variety of tourer including really rare ones like the K1600... and engines were constantly revving for like ten hours as people arrived and left. Only event I've ever been to with booths for both the local Elks and the fucking Bandidos. In the end the local chief of police rousted us out of the bars and told everyone parked in the centerline to GTFO immediately. WA SR 20 is the way to and from Anacortes and it's basically pure twisties until you get to I-5 eastbound or the ferries westbound. A bunch of us caught the last boat off the island and now I'm home with pictures.

What a fun day.

How do you guys cope with the fear of crippling injury or death? Riding is helping me a lot with my mental state but I struggle going above 55ish on unfamiliar roads (and 70 in familiar) because my mind gets in the way thinking about the what if. Instead of enjoying the moment.

It's pretty funny because he noticeably moves his butt over, he knows intellectually what he's meant to do, but you can see he counterleans the whole time until he lowsides. Remember this when someone says "I don't know what happened, I leaned into the turn and everything".
>>
>>29103694
Speeding on unfamiliar roads is dangerous, it ought to make you feel uncomfortable. If youre uncomfortable above the speed limit, slow down. No one's paying you to race
>There is no need to drive fast, it just increases the percentage of risk. We're not in a hurry, I'm not being paid. Right now, with zero incentive or reward, why would I drive fast?
>>
>>29103697
That's a good point. Reason I was asking is that there's a lot of places around me where cars will do 10-15 over and I would be forced to go those speeds to stay safe, and I figured that your "average" rider just goes and sends it without thinking too hard about it. But I think for now I'll stay away from those places until Im more comfortable/knowledgeable. Thanks anon.

>>

the thread was on page 1 and the jeetbot or whoever immediately jumped to make a new one just because we hit the bump limit with the retarded OP completely unedited

I wrote a whole reply on the bot thread that got deleted with sources and such so I'm not gonna rewrite it now that jannies did their job and 404'd it, but I will summarize
Going repeated studies show for cars and motorcycles that staying within a small margin of the speed limit is the safest way to ride/drive.
Going the speed of traffic is not actually safer.
Riders are virtually only ever rear ended at stops and slowdowns, so I always will recommend filtering.
Many people ITT like going fast because its dangerous and many people find doing dangerous things fun. They reason that since motorcycles are already more dangerous than cars, in for a penny, in for a pound. But the sum of motorcycling is not living on the knifes edge. If riding dangerously isn't fun for you, don't do it.

>>29103696
>ride slow
>fall down anyway because you suck
>don't get hurt since you were slow
a good illustration of the concept. maybe more of us should go to YCS or CSB

The last thread hasn't even fallen off the board either, we could still could have been using that one this whole time. OP was just had such a huge boner over their vibe coding skiddie shit that they decided the whole board must suffer a wall of redundant bike threads so they can feel like they're in charge of something nobody needed to be in charge of.
That being said thanks based mods.

>>
>>29103940
yes
>>
>>29103696
how do you prevent this?
speeding up a little bit?
>>
>>29104005
You need to actually farther than the bike leans
All he does is scoot his butt over in the seat
his torso fails to lean
Get on your motorcycle, put it on the kickstand, and actually lean off the thing.
Weight the inside foot peg - try to actually stand on the ball of your foot on the footpeg. Flex your ankle in so your heel presses agains the heel guard. try to look around the wind screen in the direction your leaning
>>
>>29104005
Impossible to say without footage of controls. Rider likely panicked and grabbed some front brake. Counterleaning vs knee down really doesn't matter until you start running out of ground clearance/tire.
>>
>>29104061
he literally leaned the bike slowly until it fell over, it's obvious what happened
he counterleaned VERY far and ran out of sidewall
>>
>>29101763
>its a car engine
Ackchually, despite having the same displacement as half of a Honda Element engine, and having been designed by a tram including some of the engineers who built said engine, the NC700 and NC750 engines were purpose-built for the NC series of motorcycles. Otherwise everything you said was spot on. I rode an NC700X for several years, since I was a safe, boring nerd who liked getting 78mpg. Traded it towards a Z900RS, and am now a safe, boring hooligan. There was also the short-lived CTX700, which was a cruiser style bike that shared the NC700X's drivetrain. Any of the 700/750 family of bikes are good for 150,000 miles with regular maintenance.
