Sufficed to say that my mom doesn't hike since our last time because she is a complete autist who doesn't have a grip on her emotions. I do not know enough women as to be able to comfortably extrapolate this to every one of them, but I suspect that women have a deep sense of existential angst regarding Nature. It is as if they consciously know that they are weak, however because of modern propaganda they can not afford to show said weakness and the further they are from society the more said weakness is apparent.

I recently joined a hiker club and I suspect that there are at least a couple of women there. Maybe I will change my mind about them, but the answer to your question is a definite no. I've done that hike the trail is fine, yea it's not maintained but people use it enough it's obvious, those logs with the handline are fine and you're a wuss. I've continued on down to exit (where theres not really a trail at all) at the bottom near Canon city and there's a slot canyon section with a handline you use to lower yourself into a pool to keep going. Sounds like these other people chose a cool hike and you need to stick to double wide national park trails.

My first long term gf was an excellent/out/ companion. We split up almost ten years ago, and I still miss her. She wanted to go out hiking or camping pretty much every weekend.

The one after her was pretty awful. I took her on an easy hike with some moderate elevation gain, and she panicked when her heart rate increased because she thought it meant she was dying. Had her check my pulse, and she thought I was dying too. I was like "the point of cardio is to raise your heart rate, what do you do when you go jogging/work out?" I'll sometimes use strava to track mileage on hikes, and I was looking at a few over the weekend, comparing times, and you could tell which hikes she was on because my pace was cut in half.

Current partner is a bit of a homebody, but is a butt load of fun when I can actually get her out. Cooks me steak on the campfire everytime.

My wife and I are starting a 4 day hike in NZ tomorrow. Sleeping in cabins and it's mostly fairly well-maintained trail but should be fun nonetheless.
We've done more intense stuff before (climbed Denali and Imja Tse, multi-month stints in Nepal and along the AT).

It's crazy to me that you guys find such shit women to go /out/ with. My last serious gf before I married loved going /out/ and she never complained or caused any trouble. And of the four girls I count among my close friends, two love going out and have done multi-day hiking trips by themselves.
