had a long weekend, did some tasks. wife got the rabbit Warren cleaned out. will use that as casing on top of her garlic bed. Got all of the finished compost turned in for planting in november. built an expasion onto her indoor rabbit hovel & new nesting box for one hopefully due this week.

Great job, anon. Did you grow the trees from seed? You should consider feeding your rabbits charcoal at 2% of their feed weight to reduce the smell of their manure and improve it as fertilizer. It would help to improve your compost too.

my dad (84) started the trees from seed. he collected the seeds from my grandmother's trees. they were 2 years old when he gave them to me last month. he is doing lots of spouting and propagating for us. neither one of us is going to speak it, but it's obvious he is doing it as a legacy gift to us on our new homestead.

That's great. I like that the seeds were taken from your grandmother's trees. Maybe you should root a cutting or air layer a branch off of one of her trees so you have a genetic clone from her.

even better; my dad helped my grandmother & grandfather plant the original trees 47 years ago.

seperate from the tree project, he also started us 7 giant hibiscus plants from seed, and has found an oak tree sprouted in his yard and potted and tended it for several months in prep of planting here.

best I can do in return is send him a few tomato and pepper plants we start each year. well... that and my honest, enthusiastic gratitude aboot the trees & such.

Juniper are lovely trees anon. I haven't met a tree in the Cypress/Cupressaceae family I didn't love.

Heartwarming story OP. Very cool of your dad and you for being grateful. I hope they grow tall, strong, and you can do the same for your kids someday.

wait... where am I? I thought this was 4Chan.

we are childfree. we plan on giving the farm to our BASED nephews when we die. they have no idea, no one knows. they're kids now, somewhere around 10 and 11 I think. we only see them once a year at christmas. they live in another state, a communist state. we live in a free state. don't care what they do with the farm when we're gone. they can use it or sell it. they must remain BASED or they don't get it.

how are my child nephews BASED? good parenting and they took initiative & a genuine interest in American history, documents and conservative ways and ideas. they CHOOSE to learn and understand our constitution & founding Principals.
