>>
>>2788751

Your Mom.

Almost all of northwest Maine is empty of people and it's filled with waterfalls, old timber trails and lakes. Ocean kayaking pretty fun too
>>

I miss 24hr Walmarts, they really were a prime nighttime hangout location.

There’s so much more to see within a few hour’s drive of baltimore that isn’t baltimore itself.

Go out into any of the mountains and forests that aren't part of the appalachian trail. The trail is just a single path that goes through the region, there are basically endless great outdoor areas that are far away from it. If you're from the west coast or the Boston to DC coastal megacity it can seem like the whole east coast is urban/suburban, but places like northern Maine and the Blue Ridge Mountains are world class /out/

plenty anon :3
>>
>>2788751
part of the north country trail goes through there
>>
>>2789707
Have you been on the Pennsylvania segment? I've been thinking about checking it out.
>>
>>2789849
Susquehannock trail is pretty but rough trail condition, mid state trail has some gorgeous segments near arnot/sand run/babb creek, and black forest trail is kinda the classic backpacking trail with campsites and periodic overlooks on both sides of pine creek gorge, north country is ok, id recommend it more for mtn biking, aesthetically if ur gonna pick one trail i wouldnt do that, its just less pretty land and flatter on north country vs long distance trails to the east of that in pa

Get amongst it.

Blue ridge has some areas on the west side of the hills with interesting ecology since it's a rain catcher. Not quite a rain forest but close. But unless you get boners for moss and mushrooms it really isn't that cool compared to pretty much anything out west. I enjoyed it the first time I hiked it. Me and my mom collected a bunch of mosses since she's a botany dork. But I have never really wanted to go back.

Meanwhile I'm kicking myself for not taking one last trip to New Mexico right now before the snow started.

The Susquehanna River alone has a dozen delightful overlooks along its course and mainstems, to say nothing of its tributaries, some of which form 900 ft deep gorges. Your argument is invalid.
