There used to be guys that would build shacks in the woods near ski resorts so they would not have to pay rent.They would work and ski every day then come home build a fire and go to bed. Pretty cozy lifestyle but I think it ended in the 1990s

If you buy land in the rural boroughs of AK (unorganized boroughs), and build a house you will not have to pay property taxes on it or income taxes as an Alaskan resident for at least 6+ months of the year. Those unorganized boroughs are the last tax havens in the USA, like going back to 1600s-1700s America in terms of tax regs.
You still need your own land. Otherwise s someone WILL find you at some point and cops will arrest you
