how effective do you think suicide by hypothermia would be. im going to have to eventually off myself and ive often thought that laying down in the shallows in winter would be a chill (pun intended) and easy way to go out. if it was a windy cloudless night you could fall asleep watching the stars and then slip under the water. any tips on how to do this effectively?

I know a guy who crashed a plane into Lake Erie and almost died of it before he was rescued. He was a the point he could no longer move or talk. From the sound of it, freezing to death was not pleasant at all. Though he was soaking wet the whole time too which I'm sure added to the misery.
