I want to move to the UK from Canada for reasons I won't mention here but I'm wondering if anyone here that's British knows of a prepper community in that area that I could join. Please let me know if you have one that you can connect me with. I can further clarify my circumstances in private. I'm interested in living in either England or Scotland, and in a warmer part of the country if I can. I have a list of gear I'll be taking with me that I can share with you as well.
>>2797595>I want to move to the UK from Canada
Wtf would you want yo move to the UK? There's zero wilderness, it's overcrowded, its heavily cultured, everything that used to be good about it is either gone or rapidly disappearing. You can prep but you can't just go out and shoot up some deer. Prepare to be poor.
>>2797612Are you from there? I've seen wilderness there. Northern Ireland has wilderness, as does England. They have forests. It depends where you go. Why's it bad for them to be cultured? That's a good thing. It'd be boring if they weren't. I'm already poor. I've been poor all my life. Deer would be in short supply in an apocalypse no matter where you go. You'd have to rely on mostly fish or birds.
>>2797595Excellent bait post, honestly. You'll get many (You)s from this.
>>2797616What would I be baiting for?
>>2797612My reason for moving to the UK is political. I prefer monarchy over democracy, and I know my chances of being accepted as a refugee are higher than most other countries since Canada's a member of the Commonwealth.
>>2797615> I've seen wilderness there. Northern Ireland has wilderness, as does England. They have forestsYou should make "no more fibbing" your resolution this year.wilderness is not defined as "it would take more than half an hour for some jeet to deliver my curry at 2 am". Similarly, a forest is not just a collection of trees.
>>2797595happy new year niggers! i know a bunch of preppers. but i wouldn't say we have much of a foothold, but we do have a community.
>>2797595>a warmer part of the country>implying this existshahahahahahahathe south is warmer but much more populated and built up. you won't find escape from the masses there.
>>2797642>a forest is not just a collection of trees.it literally is you fucking retarded yank.
The UK is an awful place and I'd advise you to look literally anywhere else. It's one of the few nations in the west that's getting poorer. It's a hellscape.Find somewhere in Europe, failing that, the Highlands in Scotland.
>>2797595There is no "warmer" part of England. Some areas have less rainfall than others but that's about it. You can drive from the tip of Scotland to The southernmost point of England in well under a day, around 14 hours at around 55mph I think it is.If you want "wilderness" such as we have it, you want to stay in the north or over the border in Scotland. I live in the Lake District for instance and I would only ever head further north if I was ever to leave. We get 200 days of rain per year on average here. South of the lakes most of England is built up or just features expanses of fields with random towns and villages scattered about.Never heard of any preppers around these parts. There's bound to be some out there but prepping always struck me as more of an American thing.
>>2797623First of all we don't have either of those things, secondly you won't be accepted as a refugee unless pass through several other countries first, don't speak English and are... going to enhance our diversity(which, according to those with power and influence, is obviously desperately lacking as evidenced by the fact while males still exist).
>>2797595>I've heard it's open season on buggering British children and I want in on that.
>>2797595> for reasons I won't mention hereThen why even mention it brainlet. Stay in Canada. You’re too stupid to travel much less survive in a prepper community.
>>2797623We don’t accept refugees from rich countries like Canada. Only if you can make it to Dover in a rubber dingy and not die will we accept you (if you do die, you’ll become another statistic and no one will mourn you). If you survive, we will put you on a large docked boat turned into a slum-like hotel. Everyday, British people will stand outside this boat and shout at you to go home. We may even have a riot and attempt to storm your hotel with a burning rubbish bin. Refugees aren’t very well liked in the UK right now. But if you come here with a proper work visa and decent education, we’ll welcome you with open arms!If you want a TV show on British countryside/wildlife, I recommend Countryfile and Spring Watch (Winter Watch also exists). The former is a weekly show every Sunday on the BBC and the latter is a seasonal show which broadcasts for roughly a week with live segments, documentary segments, live cameras of badger sets and bird nests etc. they’ve covered everything from worms to sea eagles. Check BBC iPlayer for them or YouTube might have clips.
We're full.
>>2797615What he means is it's "cultured".I live here, and I am doing all I can to change that. I've helped someone obtain citizenship here and I can tell you if you're poor, just forget trying to move here. It isn't happening. What visa route do you plan on taking? They all require money.>>2797623You won't be accepted as a refugee. That's a ridiculous plan with no chance of working. You can maybe get a "Young Person's Working Holiday" visa (it's called something like that) since you live in Canada but it doesn't last long and isn't a path to residency. There are other monarchies in the world, and the UK isn't a monarchy in any practical sense anyway. The UK is essentially a democracy.
Canada is a monarchy.
>>2797655At some point it would be great if you silly brits would learn English. Just like everything else in this world, someone else invents it, and it's up the US to make it work.. Getting kind of tiresome desu. But anyways, for your edification:park != foresttrees on a highway median != forest.13 or so trees in the middle of some farmer's field != forestWhat you have are parks, of various sizes, but they're still just parks; in other words you can't cram 70 odd million people onto a plot of land roughly the size of Oregon and rightfully call any of it forest, let alone wilderness.
>>2797595The uk population has probably one of the lowest rates of preparedness of any anglosphere nation; they’re not ready for anything to ever happen that’s why there’s always disaster there. Everyone seems to expect someone else to work out all issues. This is will the limited exception of some military types, if you have military experience or friends then you might be able to get involved there. For locations there’s the highlands and to a limited degree wales, the moors, or some of the midlands national parks but they’re mostly for weekend warriors up from London. It’s not a country to move to if this is a priority for you
