>>2798113One time when I was urbexing, I went to a subway station. I road the subway, arrived at a different station. When I left the station, I was in a different part of the city. I travelled underground.

I urbexed an abandoned ore processing facility in Manitoba back in the middle 90's. It was like one day they just closed the place and walked away. It had been picked over like a thousand times, but there was still a fortune in shit in there. I found a couple of big boxes of dull diamond tipped core drills. I kind of suspected they might be worth money so I asked my brother when I got home. He's a geologist. He said that even though they were dul and useless, they still have a lot of diamonds on the tip. Scrap companies buy them and melt them down and salvage the diamonds. I went back and hauled them all back on a snow sled. He sold them $2400, which was more money than I'd ever seen in my life up to that time. Most of the tools and obviously valuable stuff was gone. But in one of the store rooms there was probably $150,000 in spare parts on the shelves. Nuts and bolts, bearings, seals, various replacement parts. I would have loved to have cleaned it all out, but what do you do with some huge replacement bearing that you have no idea what machine it goes on, even though you know it's probably worth $100?

>>2798113Best affordable gear to get started with urban exploration?
>>2798275Bring a flashlight, and some basic tools. A screwdriver with interchangeable bits, a pair of vice grips, an adjustable wrench, a hacksaw. You can get into, and out of, just about anywhere with those tools. You can also use them to detach things you might want to take home with you.
>>2798275>>2798314A trash bag for your cold dead carcass if I'm around. You're going to get your punk selves arrested, fined, imprisoned or, if one of us old folks are around and there's still plenty of us defenders of rights, shot dead and buried in a ditch. Don't break into buildings, bubbas. Or else.
>>2798364Shut the fuck up, you self-righteous faggot.
>>2798542Or what, what are you going to do about it, punk? Don't get your shoes dirty.

Does anyone have any good pds\FAQ sites about the legality of urban exploring, how to avoid "vagrancy" crime, remote rural exploring? Specially whether entering abandoning sites, or remaining in a "ghost town" for a set amount of time, is a felony, or no, etc.>I really really can't risk having sh*t in my records
>>2798893>I really really can't risk having sh*t in my recordsThat's a good first step bubba. The second step is not to break into people's property.

>>2798966>>2798955"urbex" sounds cringe I know. You probably just havent seen cool enough shit.
>>2798968The very surface level of it is polluted by children who want to go places and destroy shit. When you go deeper it gets better.
>>2798969It just sounds larpy. Like parkour. Everyone talks about it, everyone says they do it, nobody actually does it and it's impractical.
>>2798893I can tell you for sure that it is going to depend on the jurisdiction, but most places aren't going to treat simple trespassing as a felony.
>>2798970I dont see what you mean by it being impractical. Its not something you use as you go through your daily life. Unless youre the type to go eat your dinner at a bando. For the “everyone says they do it, but nobody actually does” where i am there is actually a problem of too many people doing it. That being said there are alot of people who are not really about it and just do it for clout.
