server monkey here, i sit on my ass all day indoors and at home too. going out in the woods makes me feel good on long walks. is there a way to combine long walks with meditation? i heard meditation is good for recovering after work. is it merely about combining mindfulness (i.e being aware of sensations like the pebble under your shoe and the sleek wind caressing you face) and letting thoughts pass by without engaging with them?
I recommend finding a good spot to sit by a creek or river with running water - that can help calm the mind. You can also just take a 5 min meditation break during a hike or try to turn your rest breaks into meditation anytime you are just sitting and breathing you are meditating > and letting thoughts pass by without engaging with them?you'll never accomplish thatits about being willing to let go once they attach and go back to the breath if you drive hours into the woods, you can find very quiet places
Meditation innawoods is a top tier experience. I do breathing exercises and work on being mindful/introspective whenever I get a chance while out. Turkey and deer hunting provide good opportunities for this for me but really as long as you have a quiet spot to do it you'll enjoy it.
