Hey /out/ from the northeast and planning on going canoeing sometime in the early spring, most likely in later March and was wondering what place offers the best canoeing. Was looking into Big Bend, but it looks like most of the Rio Grande is gonna be too dry this time of year. Was also considering Canyonlands or Buffalo River but was wondering if there are any other rivers that are worth it. Flatwater is preferred. I'm not entirely married to it being in the US so I'd be down with other places too.
>from the northeast>I know I should fly somewhere to find a rivernegro there's rivers all over u can canoe closer to home>Flatwater is preferredwussythere's plenty of fun whitewater you could do in spring with a guideearly april - late may is usually the seaon, but it varies based on raini recommend the cheat canyon if you want a canyon, or the new river also has some easy-ish whitewate, but there's also um plenty of normal rivers in the ne u can canoe - delaware, lehigh, allegheny
>>2802100>negro there's rivers all over u can canoe closer to homeYeah but I want to get away from the shitty weather up here in March>wussythere's plenty of fun whitewater you could do in spring with a guideearly april - late may is usually the seaon, but it varies based on rainI like white water but I'm going with a friend who hasn't done much before and we're gonna take a more relaxed trip.Cheat River looks nice but hoping for something less cold.
>>2802109>I like white water but I'm going with a friend who hasn't done much before and we're gonna take a more relaxed trip.anything short of cheat canyon isn't going to be that hard, there's plenty of easier whitewater rivers as welllower middle yough are whitewater but easyI would recommend simply braving the cold and if you want warmer try north carolina maybe if that didn't all get destroyed with helene or i dunno maybe like alabama or somethingassuming you have your own canoesi think the rivers of southern wv are gorgeous and barely touched like tug fork and around thereyou sound like you have money - pay for a guide, esp since your friend doesn't know what they are doing

Are either of those actually worth going?I'm not gonna bring my canoe as I'd prefer to fly.Might consider WV just would much rather do something warmer, cus, as you said, I already have a lot of rivers close by.
