She was last seen near Spruce Knob in Pendleton County.In December, hunters found human remains in a remote part of the Monongahela National Forest in Pendleton County, and personal items within the area led police to believe the remains were those of Sheetz.Recent DNA testing has now confirmed the skeletal remains found in late 2021 were the remains of Sheetz. The DNA testing was conducted through samples obtained from Sheetz’s family.

Apparently the guys who she went hiking with also were involved with another woman who in 2020 died under mysterious circumstances, and she wasn't a usual hiker and wasn't dressed for it in march anyways - was found in a tank top.
