my dad is aging and i want to get him a dog that would be able to help him clean up the yard and forest. specifically picking up sticks and putting them in a pile. does anyone know a good breed for this?
>>2810997retriever?
>>2810999like a lab?
>>2811000basically, they're literally made to retrieve technically though, you don't "need" any specific breed, just a good training regiment most (quality) mutts have a mix of classic breeds, making them well suited to training, as opposed to some breeds which have only been bred for looks in the recent decades inbetween mauling children, pits can retrieve the bodies, just goes to show how well dogs have taken to domestication
>>2811001thanks. im not worried about the aesthetics. if he's chill and likes to work thats all im looking for.
>>2811002just don't be surprised if your dad doesn't train the dog; its really hard to look at something thats cute, to an extent - retarded, and absolutely loves you, and say "go work for me!"do however, expect lots of pictures
>>2811003yea i wasnt going to drop it off lmao. ill swing by after work and help him for a few months
>>2811004have you ever had/trained a dog? Has your dad? The work it takes to keep a dog might be more than the labour output it provides. If you want your dad to have a loyal companion thats a different story.
