I've trimmed litho film to 4x5 and it was pain even with safelight. (About 1 to 3 ISO, dev rodinal 1:200 or so for very thin negatives with some tones.and "character".)

Hasselblad and linhof also make 70mm backs. It's a lot cheaper to use 70mm film canisters with 13 feet of film than getting slit and rolled vision3.

The initial investment is a little pricey, but you'll start saving pretty quick. 260 bucks for a 100 foot spool of 250D, and that should get you over 300 shots of 67.

Shoot black and white, get pro film for 9 or 10 bucks a roll. (Delta, Tmax, Rollei).

I don't know why but I'm always content with film prices even with the inflated prices. But the development price when I send them to the lab, that's what gets me bothered. Not sure why.
