street photography is nice imo because it's the only time i can capture something that is natural and not staged or fabricated. it just feels natural and raw

i feel like i was just rambling but the basic idea is like so
-shoot raw + jpg, and you can shoot a 3x bracket like EV +0.7. this has two advantages, one of them will end up being the best base exposure, and second, if you shoot low shutter speed, one of them has a good chance of being sharper because it may have lower motion blur
-fix your exposure, make sure you have decent highlights and nice shadows/blacks, i like contrast a lot so i always pull back my shadows and pull up the blacks
-play with the colours, there are some shit trends going on so try to play with them to see what feels right
-add colours to your highlights and midtones/shadows, but make sure to keep everything natural, you may end up having too saturated colours so u can just draw back the sat/vibrance a bit
-dodge and burn + use masks, this shit rocks

It was always a dumb pseudo-rule. Why should the photos on /p/ be lower resolution than the porn on /b/? The guy who made it said "to reduce the blur inherent to digital cameras" (lolwut?) so I wonder if it had to do with his photos all being too blurry if they were any larger. It was also before 4k display proliferation was as thorough as it is now, but even then almost everyone could fit a 1920x1080 photo on their screen.

I dont know about the older sony but on the newer ones, if you shoot raw, put it in highlight metering, and lock the exposure compensation at +1 every photo will end up perfectly exposed without harsh clipping or excessive noise unless you want to blow highlights, and then it goes to +3.

thanks a lot, I'm still not familiar with some words but I'll look them up and learn from there. I still haven't tried experimenting with highlights and midtones/shadows, I've always played around the color chart of one single layer, so that is probably why some of my edits end up too green/blue or too much on the red tone... Also only things I know for now is basically adjusting the exposure/lighting of the whole photo

drag down shadows, and slide up blacks, desaturate all the greens in the colour calibration and add colours to highlights and shadows, and dodge and burn, i replied to another person here
