I feel like I am looking at a Renaissance painting when I look at this photo.

I wonder, do we subconsciously make the connection to renaissance art when looking at sports photography or does the photographer envision it as such when shooting instead of just spraying and praying?

Such a great photo, it’s a buzzer beater in the final second of an nba final with an underdog stealing the series too which makes it even better and why everybody is reacting so hard.

how'd they even get this shot

These moments happen so quickly that photographers are often not able to frame things with intent as you describe, at least not in a “staging the scene” sense. But a good photographer will have “an eye” for framing and making things look good/stand out instinctively. I know /p/ gearfag no photos hate such un-quantifiable explanations but it is what it is.

I always love the chad in the background shooting through his TLR's sportsfinder.

You frame it by being at the right vantage point

The photographer had a camera set up on the railings above and had a mechanism to remotely trigger the camera.
The ridiculous thing is that that same photographer also took this photo >>4305435
How the fuck does one guy take 2 of the most iconic sports photos of all time?
